Time to replace my rears and a problem emerges:
According to the handbook the size should be 235/50/ZR16. But Bridgestone don't do S02s in this size. I check my car: actually sitting on PPS02 245/45ZR 16's. Are my current tyres wrong and if so how would this affect handling etc? Always thought it didn't seem as tail happy as I'd heard Griffs should be... Now debating on whether to replace with the larger SO2s or go down to the smaller (but correct according to handbook) So1's).
Any thoughts appreciated!

I've just started sprinting this year, and having been up against Pete, and the other demon V8S (Steve Lyle) I can confirm that they're both extremely quick. Although obviously not up to (nor do they claim to be) the Senna level. And yes, it is unfair that some peoples natural talent far surpasses others (I know I'm[/] jealous). Having thrashed around on track days for the previous couple of years, and getting used to being on of the faster cars on the circuit, I've been on a very steep learning curve on the couple of events so far. Griff 500 and used tyres SAD sell it and get a bus pass if you cant afford to run it Pete Humphries/Senna get real
Forgot to mention.
I agree with all the praise the S02PP's get. I've done over 12000 miles on the same set of rears (flat spotted the fronts - whoops),including numerous track days sprints (& 720 donuts in our yard at work).
The 'feel' and grip of the tyres is excellent, and by comparison S01's are pants. I'm sure SO1's tend to tramline more as well.

I've just changed from S01(F) & S02(R) to S03's all round.
The fronts are much better - more grip and they slide progresively on the limit.
The rears I'm not so sure about. They've plenty of grip & slide progresively as you get to the limit - but it seems that the point of no return is more sudden & that once they let go it's much harder to recover.
Maybe this is 'cos they've more grip & therefore speeds are higher - I'm not sure as I haven't driven the same circuit with both types of rear yet.
The S03's are better in the wet, I've heard someone else remarking on this in the past as well.
I recently spoke to a Bridgestone engineer(not rep)with regards as to whether or not i should mix So1's (front) with So2's (rear). He said he wouldn't really advise it due to the differing compounds/handling characteristics between the two.
When he enquired what car it was for(Grif500)he quickly changed his answer to 'NO WAY!!,NOT ON A CAR LIKE THAT!!'.
Therefore there are 4 X So2's waiting in ATS as i scribble and 2 X 205 50/15 So1's barely worn for sale.
Hope this helps.
