As the griffith pages has been down for a while, and the Chatsworth event is soon to be upon us I have decided to make up a batch of these scoops and give them away to anyone who wants a set at Chatsworth, that way you don`t have the hassle of trying to make them yourself, you`ll just need to fit them by following the instructions which can be emailed to you.

all I ask is that you kindly make a donation to the charity via this link afterwards....

pics of them on car,

if you would like a set just put your name down on this thread, and you can collect them from me at Chatsworth.

I can only make some of these for collection at Chatsworth I`m afraid, do you know someone who is going who can collect on your behalf?

if I start making these and posting them to people then I`ll start incurring costs on materials and postage and packaging ect ect, which then takes things away from the charity, as they are simple to make, then people can download the templates and make them themselves, I am just offering to make a few up for collection at Chatsworth as the griffith pages has been down for a while, which is where all the details for them can be found.

hopefully BB will have it sorted and online again soon.

I was looking to do this to mine as the smell of exhaust fumes and petrol is starting to get a irritating.

However, checking my early car I don't have the holes. I also have speakers in the vent holes.

So what exactly is the actual cause of this issue? I would guess that the vent holes in the rear bulkhead were to allow fumes in the cabin to be drawn through in to the boot? If so, my speakers blocking these vents would meant that cabin fumes don't escape as well. But by adding this mod which forces air in the air way...well that suggests I've got it all wrong.

Do I start drilling large holes and hope I have a channel in the bodywork, or remove the speakers first and start experimenting?

I'd really like to fix this but I'm not sure where to start.

Any help would be much appreciated.

fumes are probably getting in via the boot then , there have been some who have put another seal on the boot rim just along the rear edge which apparently helps.

Also make sure over each wheel going in from the boot that there is some foam or the like as i imagine it can draw it into the cab over these two as thats another direct way into the cab.

I can tell you kabaman if you remove your speakers it is a single skin bulkhead there. Pull out just one of the bolts holding the speaker in and you'll see you don't have to blindly try to find the 'other hole' when you put the bolt back in.

Actually, I can't get my head around these holes either, possibly because I have a precat like kabaman.
Where are they and where do they go?

I've had the tank out and the bolts holding the body to chassis behind there and there was no evidence of any double skin or channels.

I solved mine by blocking off the seatbelt holes, replacing the boot seal, and sealing the speakers at the back. Basically blocking all air from the boot getting back to the cab. I guess the flaps will give a positive boot pressure at speed and prevent fumes getting in the first place. I’m also looking at ways of getting more fresh air into the cab. Perhaps some form of duct from the front of the car. Anyway, I purchased a carbon monoxide meter and now it reads zero when travelling over 20mph.

You could contact Clive F and ask him? Don’t know if he’s still here but he’s on the TVR and Chimeara pages Facebook pages
