Those pics were really sickening, Can't begin to think how i'd feel if that happened to my 'ol Wedge let alone a brand new Griff.
But it's so refreshing to see that i'm not the only one to feel that 'a bit of lead' in the ear would be too good for them.
Breaking rocks on a remote island with no games or TV,or something similar would be more suitable....no, on the other hand, i'd feel much better seeing the little Ba*&^%%'s teeth embedded in a handcrafted baseball bat. Bring on the PH inquisition!
I really sympathise.

The Latest:

As the insurance company has been so slow to react to getting the remains of the car collected some thieving gyppo has made off with the front wheels!

When I phoned them this morning to let them know their front wheels had been nicked the guy said "Don't worry, it won't affect your claim"! F@CK!N right it won't, useless gits! It's only through their incompetence that it is still sat where it is!!!

So, if you are offered a couple of perfect looking 16" wheels with perfect looking SO2's DON'T TOUCH THEM. With a bit of luck they'll end up on some thieving gits Nova or suchlike where they'll fail due to unseen fractures caused by exposure to heat.

I once had a car I'd written off sat in one of my parent's garages for months. We'd been asking the insurance company to take it away for all that time.

In the end my father wrote to them and told them that he was moving the car into the adjacent field (his field) and that since it was the rainy season and some of the windows in the car were broken, if they were planning to salvage anything from the car to mitigate their losses they might want to get their arses in gear and take the damn thing away.

They turned up the next day to collect it.

(I'd point out that this was back in the 80's when an abandoned / written off / scrap car was actually worth something)

I also wanted to comment on the 'it's only a car' issue which has been raised on this forum. If he's anything like the rest of us, it isn't just a car, it's the embodiment of all the hard work he's done and all the things he's gone without so that he can afford it. More than that, it's also the embodiment of all the times he's probably sat back and thought, "I can't wait to get my Griffith." That's certainly how I feel about my Chimaera anyway. Therefore, to cricise people for empathising is ignorant and insensitive at best, and in fact I find it difficult to believe that someone who had been through the things I've just talked about could say such a thing.

I wholeheartedly agree with this sentiment. I can't stretch to a Griffith or a Chimaera, but I'm hoping to buy an S3 in September, and I'm counting the days

A friend of mine had his wife's car stolen.

A day or two later he was driving a minibus full of rugby players (he was the club secretary) through a town on their way to a local match, he stopped at a red light and to his amazement his wife's car drew up next to him beign driven by a spotty little git with three of his mates.

All the boys piled out of the minibus and absolutely smacked the shite out of the theiving gits in the car..........true story!.

And I thought that you only get these happy endings in the movies! Fantastic.

Sorry to hear the bad news, I'm sure I would feel the same, my car has literally changed my life.

If that's the insurance companies attitude, surely "some Gyppo" could carefully remove the engine and gearbox, exhaust cats etc and leave them somewhere safe if ever you need a spare?

Let me just add my sympathy and support, and to say that my Lotus Carlton was treated similarly a couple of years ago (see below) and, with the insurance, I bought a Griff 500! So sometimes good can come from bad. Mind you, if I ever get my hands on the little beggars who torched it, they'll be in hospital for a very long time...

Is that the one in Moonraker Black (with gold flecks) and an ally dash? Very nice car - I was interested in it myself, but am unwilling to commit that kind of money.
It's been up for sale for a number of months now. They've had several nibbles on it, but have so far failed to get a firm buyer.
