I’d posit that the whole project is somewhat of a long running joke involving far too much effort!

I'm amazed Binky has been run enough to break the old design drive more than once..in my mind's eye it lives in the corner under an inch of workshop dust...glad to be wrong!

Episode 1 was August 17th 2013. If it's a joke it's an almost 13 year joke. It's good that it's moving under it's own power now though.

That alternator drive is wild... I am never quite sure what impresses me most about Nick's work, the ability to think up the idea, or the ability to than make it!

I suspect the project itself is at least 3yrs older than the first video, the things that were done to the chassis in the first 20 episodes or so don't happen without some serious design work behind them. I believe Binky is Nik's Sistine chapel, his magnum opus, it won't matter how long it takes so long as it is perfect when it is eventually finished.

Same here, just a joy to watch a mind work in a problem and come up with ingenious solutions. I was 90% there on the geometry of how it all went together but seeing the finished article on the block of wood just brought it home how ingenious and cunning it was to find a solution that looked so simple but must have taken an age to figure out! As always the time flies by and I'm left grasping for more.
