Mrs Stargazer bought a 2016 plate Mini Cooper S. Very nice it is too, but what gives with this BMW servicing?

No service book sir - its all electronic on the key - hmmmmm okayyy, can I have a print out then at least?
Picks up car asks for printout and guess what, its never been serviced. Thats right, its got the oil in, it left the factory with! But computer says its not due a service so they wont do it yet. So we need to bring it back in June as its got 3 years free servicing remaining anyway. For my own peace of mind I go to check the dipstick/oil colour. Ahh right, no dipstick!

I mean seriously. 2 years old, no oil change, no easy way to check it been serviced after it goes in.
Am I being old fashioned/paranoid here, surely there must be a way of making sure the works done?

it's poor but BMW like their long/variable intervals & not straying from this they don't require anything officially till they 2 years old you're car sounds like a late 16 plate

I don't agree with these service intervals apparently BMW know better than us wink

How do you know they did it though?

You don't but you never do unless it's fully flushed and not moved since they filled it

I would have had the oil/filter service done. Had my new JCW oil service done at 500 miles, then at 2K miles and just the other day at 5K miles. Think the car's service computer still believes the 1st service is not due for another 7K miles but 12K miles on oil is frankly a bit ridiculous.

It should be 2 years at the maximum even on CBS, ours will be serviced every year, if it has been serviced Mini should be able to give you a print out. Indis can also add servicing online so this should show too.

Once out of TLC I'd prefer to go the Indy route but can they reset/load the service details in the car so it shows in the list like previous BMW services?

Some can ... i'm not sure if its loaded through the car or updates when the online service history is updated. We are trying to get the log ins for this and i can then try on our F57.
