Quick question on mechanical fuel pump

Hi all,
I have just ditched an electric fuel pump for an original mechanical one.
I also put in a new fuel line, and now realise I don't know which is the inlet and which is the outlet!
It is an RSP cooper carb 1275
So looking down from above at the pump, it had a pipe pointing to the right and one to the left.
Am I right in thinking connect fuel tank to the RHS and carb to LHS?
I'd rather not find out the hard way!
