Got the engine up and running last night, drove it down the road and seems all ok, needs to be set up properly though.

Just got to fit the bonnet pins (bloody bolts snapped off the hinges) and do a few other bits to tidy it up then hopefully I’ll be off to Brighton in it on Sunday

Nice one!!!

Sunday now off for me judging by the weather as I wont get a chance to do that work tonight so it will have to be Sunday...

Fortunately the mini has been in the garage so I can carry on working while it’s raining.

Hopefully I can get it set up before the run. Sounds good though, playmini’s seems to suit the 1275’s better.

Nice, I had wondered about a decent exhaust, because if I go for say the Play Mini SuperSport one, sad fashion victim I know - but I like twin pipes, then presumably the back box will still be useable post conversion.

Are we talking TVR sound here are a little more muted?

No where near a TVR sound but still nice, not as deep but then it’s not got 5 litres of V8 under the bonnet.

Mines a side exit, a friend has the centre exit RC40 one and that sounds very good, make sure you go single silencer though

The 1380 had the Playmini on it and that sounded even better, it was running 11.5:1 compression though so the gases from the upswept hit you in the chest if you stood a few foot back
