My new RRC. Does anyone anything about the color? Haven't found anything online about two tone RRC classics at all, is it anything special?

thats the famous 'st sandwich' colour scheme. Brown bread in case you were wondering.

Do yourself a favour and go for free next time.

I posted this in the abandoned classics section of the forum, but thought it might be appreciated here.

I received a call on Friday saying

"you are a car person, any interest in an old Land Rover, hasn't been out of it's garage in 15 years."

So my reply,

"of course i'm interested, when can I come and see it?"

So had a quick look yesterday, and was greeted with this.

Went back to collect it today, blew two tyres up and towed it out of the garage.

Nothing seized, clutch and brakes worked eek

Winched it on to the trailer and got it back to my friend's workshop.

Engine wasn't seized, but either the wiring to the starter, or the starter motor itself were knackered, so we towed it about 15 yards and it started!

So it moved, changed gear and stopped without any issue!

I love it, and I'd like to re commission and use it, especially after my Jeep engine blowing last week, but I think the chassis needs a bit too much work for me to do.

I think I saw somewhere that the Royal Marines have civilian pattern 110s which they used to support training exercises, maybe this is one? The paint looks like NATO IRR green (unless very faded) but the lights are civilian pattern.

Good find!

Looking good! Nice to see another 2.8i getting some love. I just shipped over a 110 on Thursday for the old man, getting ready for some upgrades and a respray!

We brought ours home after 18 months living in Stellenbosch. There is another on gumtree at the moment, a 90 in Cape Town.
Not sure how long we will hold onto it, baby on the way and the baby won't be going in the back, though we have done the Puma seat conversion

Got this HSE black recently to replace my old D3 HSE. Happy so far, miss the air suspension and sheer load size, don't miss a lot else.

Could they not do that bit on the bonnet in Black also or is your roof grey? I like the look of the disco sport with the black pack, looks very nice!

Roof is black, not sure you can have the pedestrian air bag cover in black too (might be wrong?).

Might be the photo, the panel at the top of the bonnet looks grey?

Would it look better black? Seems strange for it to be grey when the rest of the trim is black?

I have a DS. There's an option for the roof: grey or black.

There was a demonstrator at the local LR dealer that was all black with black pack and wheels but a grey roof, it didn’t look right.

The first DS's all came with grey covers for the pedestrian air bags, no matter what spec you ordered (ie black pack etc). Apparently they could only use grey plastic to make it due to how it worked!!!
We had ours wrapped black to match our spec.
Within 6mths to a year, they were making them in black!
