Fantastic stuff, there's something weirdly enjoyable about doing a huge drive in an old car. All great, until it goes wrong
I've never actually driven a Classic, it's an itch I'd love to scratch, but not at the money they're going for these days!
Thought the Series looked just at home here yesterday

If it was a Japanese car, it would be RHD surely?
That's what I'm thinking, but Edd China would cry with delight at the lack of rust, and by all accounts it's only the Jap imports manage to stay rust free. Mind you, Bulgaria doesn't salt the roads, and that's where it's spent its whole life. karona said:

There seems to be a certain cachet attached to LHD in Japan, scanning their classifieds there are often mercedes, jags etc with wrong hand drive.
It's a show of wealth. They pay more to import the LHD models than buy the ones imported as RHD and sold by a dealer.trowelhead said:
Here's my defender:
It's been keeping us up all night lately with its alarm going off at 3 hour intervals through the night which is all good fun
Nice looking Defender. It seems to pop up on eBay regularly (currently). I was contemplating buying it when it was up for sale on Pistonheads a couple of months ago. It's been keeping us up all night lately with its alarm going off at 3 hour intervals through the night which is all good fun

Cheers! I bought it off eBay just before xmas. Unfortunately my situation has changed so it's back for sale
but if I can justify keeping it I will be doing
Either way certainly won't be my last defender. I'm half hoping nobody buys it in truth!
Just checked your garage, you've had a few defenders then!!

I have had a few and need to refill the defender hole I currently have in my life. After rebuilding the series 2 it's time to get another defender. Hopefully the end of Feb I'll have a nice G4 90 auto td5 to fill that hole.Unfortunately my situation has changed so it's back for sale

I have a real hankering for a twisted modded defender. Yours looked nice but was snapped up quickly once the price was reduced on PH. only to reappear on eBay when you must have bought it. The guy you bought it off bagged a nice profit with a quick flip.
But enjoy your defender. They can be a pain in the arse with small annoying problems. But there easy solved and nothing drives like a defender!

What was the price on PH if you don't mind me asking?
I'm more than happy to keep it on the market - if i get the price i paid or very close i'll sell - if not i'll keep it a while longer.
Yep alarm is sorted - faulty door sensor. Finally i can sleep without anxiety
I can see why people love them though and seem to always have to have one when bitten by the bug. There is nothing else quite like them.

There are a few autos, mostly td5 that have had a disco 2 auto box fitted. What was the price on PH if you don't mind me asking?

Your car was on ph for £18k. It was first put on at 22k but didn't sell. It didn't stay for sale at 18k for very long.
Good to hear your sorted out the alarm. They're great and have a lot of character.
