Looks good. What flavours of dinitrol are you using?
It was a large vehicle kit from Rejel which included:

-RC900 rust converter
-ML cavity wax
-4941 underbody wax
-Drohnex 445 stonechip

To keep the D3 company, which has been subjected to the parts cannon to sort injector issues, a replacement gearbox and torque converter.

I've scratched my series 1 itch.
I shook hands on a 1950 ex trailer 80".
Series 1 bodywork and chassis, but series 3 running gear, full cage, bucket seats and it starts and drives. Bit rough around the edges as you would expect for something that's spent half its life being a competition car but solid enough.

Still on the dvla system but hasn't been on the road since 1994.
Going to off road it for a while, then will start gathering parts to do a light restoration on it.

Not bad for £1350.

Correct.

Hence, it's mine.

Rough or not, it's too cheap for a genuine car with I.D that can go back on the road to be passed on.

Going to have some fun with this one, had a look at the prices of parts and nearly fainted.

Going to make running the D3 look like running a Fiesta.

Looks similar to USY 452 that 300 posted up. Same style of cage etc. But needs a damn good wash and some bits sorting.

Matching the replacement tub and doors to the original front wings including the patina

Rear tub/rear-wings with initial paint work

Door getting there, now to do the other side, rear and the 24 Hour Recovery lettering

Once the base work is done I will blend it all together by finishing the chipping and abrasions/stains to match the front .....

On the subject of paint, I just got the tub, bulkhead and radiator panel on mine properly resprayed to get a better paint match with the original bits.

Nice smile

Blue pin stripes done

Not to blend/tie it all together and make the stencils....where did I put those OHP acetate sheets in 1990 ?

A few bits to screw back on and a couple of stencils and this is finished...

Nice work. smile

Reckon you need some 'period' tread tyres though. Those BFG's just look a little too modern.

Cheers....

Tyres: but they do make for a more comfortable drive....but yes, noted.

With some of the correct accessories for an old'un, the dogs LOVE IT

Agree. Perhaps just turn them round on the rims so the lettering is black?

Finally got round to fitting one-piece doors again.
Mate of mine got them sprayed up (from white) in return for the two-piece military doors that came off.
The more astute (read: geeky) might appreciate why fitting these particular doors could be a mixed blessing....

An absolutely rubbish picture of my Td5 which I have just sold to make way for the early 3 door 200Tdi Discovery behind it. The 200Tdi will be my daily driver for the foreseeable, looking forward to using it then hopefully carrying out a light restoration on it in the future. Just ticked over 105k original miles since March 1990.

Another not-so-good picture of my Range Rover Classic which is now nearly finished.

A picture of them all together.

Of all my automotive regrets in life, not picking up a range rover classic when they were throwaway cheap has to be one of the largest.

Great fleet.

Nice early 3 door Disco.

Don't see many of them around any more, most have died and donated engines to the tractor brigade.

For my own Series 1.
Have found out the cage is out of spec and will need renewed.
That and the other work may change the direction of what i do with it.

It may go from off road toy to a more road spec car.
