I’d be interested to see more on the 90 rebuild?

The first DS's all came with grey covers for the pedestrian air bags, no matter what spec you ordered (ie black pack etc). Apparently they could only use grey plastic to make it due to how it worked!!!
We had ours wrapped black to match our spec.
Within 6mths to a year, they were making them in black!
Wasn't sure - odd why mine isn't black then, it's a 2016 car. Doesn't bother me hugely tbh.

New Velar last week, D300 HSE R-Dynamic, 22’s, opening roof, TV and a few other bits. Love it, as relaxed as the RRS it replaced.

I think they just look fantastic, and yours looks to be in the best Colour combo too.

As was asked in GG though, you don’t see many of them on the road do you?.

We just had ours wrapped to match the Black Pack option. If you didn't do the Black Pack that might be why yours was still grey.

cheers

Thanks - it's Silicon Silver and I think it suits it much better than the dark colours. I went for black interior though as wasn't brave enough to go for the cream. Everything works as it should and it's even averaging over 35mpg after only doing 200 miles which is loads better than the RRS was with the same engine.

There aren't that many around but my neighbour two doors up has bought the exact same colour but with a body coloured roof which he picked up a few days before me! It's confusing the hell out of people who keep waving at the wrong person laugh

How does it compare to your RRS? Was yours a 2013+ RRS?

Mine was a 2017 RRS Autobiography. Comparatively the Velar feels smaller on the road (and obviously is) but its more about the feeling of space above and around you driving the RRS as the roof is higher and it has the extra armrests. Tech wise it is great but the 2018 RRS matches that anyway, from the front seats it is typical Range Rover but the back seats are more poor relations as it doesn't have the nice centre console the RRS has and I didn't spec heated rears. They are electric recline though.

Comfort wise there is nothing in it as the Velar has air suspension, it is a lot faster than the RRS though.

I like them too, and yes very nice colour combo. Interesting comparison with your previous RRS. I have a Full Fat Supercharged ‘10 MY which is a mint keeper, but must admit the Velar is tempting....

Well my old Defender V8 is long gone now,,but as you know I love a V8,so here’s the new project!

A lovely old girl, a 2004 L322 Vouge V8 4.4.

Needs some love and attention, but had loads done to it.

Never been over heated, or suffered with boiling water.

Had all new brake lines.

New air suspension compressor.

New Land Rover disks, brakes and pads all round.

New gearbox and transfer unit.

New gearbox controller solenoid and electronics.

New genuine Land Rover radiator and header tanks, because they all split.

All in all seems like a bargain, and just needs some tlc.

I’ve bought it for our business of off road tours, at our local 70 acres Woodland site.

Should be fun!

Fix the cable on the passenger door, now done.

Fix the stiff hinges on he drivers door, now done.

Fix the rear seat DVD player and screens, now done.

Fix the bulbs that needed replacing. Now done.

All filter and oil to be changed, will be done this week.

Give the old girl a proper clean and tidy. Now done.

Carried out a first proper clean of the car, with a full snow foam session.

Hard to believe just how much dirt comes out from odd places!
