Have you lost some bolts in the rear hub?

M
You have bought tubed rather than tubeless rims.

Lockdown means browsing eBay too much.......

Latest update - some wolf wheels with GoodYear MT/Rs.

Bonus PH points for anyone that spots the issue (it's not the drip tray laugh ).
Good answers, but no - I had a problem with the spacers, had to leave them on - now all sorted

The apparently short studs are known - the Army's way round it was a big sticker to make sure the nuts were torqued to the right setting.

They always look like this with wolfs

Took advantage of the gorgeous weather yesterday to disinterr the Series 3 for a trip to the shops.... admittedly perhaps not by the most direct route whistle

No filters, just an accidentally brilliant composition with the low sun smile

Having not turned a wheel since Christmas day, after a few priming squirts on the fuel pump lever it fired straight up with a bit of choke.... Got to love that reliable Weber carb compared to the rubbish old Zenith

Love your S3 CC

Moved my 90 down to my other garage to give myself a bit of space for working on the 110

Was nice to see it in the sunshine!

The old and the new.

The old one remains as frankly I can’t part with it.
It needs work that will cost far more than its economic value but it’s worth more to me than anyone else.

But I currently don’t have the cash to give it the semi restoration it needs as the cash had to go to boosting the house fund.

So it sits in limbo, not in a condition that would get an mot but also too good to break up for spares.

Went in a year ago for body removal at a specialist I thought I could trust.
New alternator, cross over pipe, injector replacement, service and drill out the snapped brake bleed nipples on the 4 pot brembos and an Mot check over.

Left with injector still chuffing, he fouled up the bleed nipple removal so gave me a set of “rebuilt” ones, drivers side sticks on after 20 miles. EPB wasn’t set up so that faulted out, crossover pipe wasn’t fitted correctly and car felt down on power.

Went to get alignment done and found that 3 of the body mount bolts hadn’t been refitted, along with various arch trim screws and he snapped off the A bar support bolts.
Oh, and the front lower arm rear bushes were knackered...

Roll on a month and the car developed a fault with loss of power, engine system fault. Went away with a turn off and on.
Car died a week later going to work during April’s lockdown.
He had it for 5 weeks, I got it back “running” for 30 miles before it broke down again and got recovered back to his for another 6 1/2 weeks.

After trashing the wiring harness bracket in the passenger rear arch, leaving it covered in birdst, badly aligned from replacing the front lowers, replacing both EPB cables but still not getting it holding properly, and a new in tank pump.

It still drove down on power, cut out at half a tank and had the faulty brakes.

I had to find several grand extra to get on the ladder so I parked it up, stripped off its off road gear and sold them on.

It needs a new tank, crossover pipe fixed so body off again, the injector sorted or replaced, the front callipers rebuilt properly, the epb set up correctly, alignment and ride heights done, wiring faults repaired to the harness and rust repairs to sills and back arches.

So it sits at my folks house.
I can’t currently afford to fix it, but I don’t want to sell it on as I’ve had it 8 1/2 years.

Oh wow. That’s quite some list. Such a shame. Fingers crossed you can get it sorted at some point.

What doubly annoys me is it was a very distinctive car in its prime.

Secondly, I had sent loads of work his way through the clubs, recommended him to various landy owning friends and he screwed me over massively.

One day it will get redone, but for now it sits.
