Its fitted with the silly 22 inch wheels. Is it best to just fit the factory standards?

I've not really seen any tyres than the factory contis that are the right size. Not from popular stores anyway. What were you thinking, a more aggressive off road profile or something? If just regular driving stick with the factory onea. Kwikfit sell them cheaply online for home delivery and fitting.

From past experience (none of which involves the Range Rover you mention, tho!!), 99% of the time I stick with the manufacturer tyre spec, but I will always use something like blackcircles.com to find the best price after doing a bit of 'make' research. (My previous Golf GTIs were transformed when I changed to Goodyear Eagle F1s, for example).

With my last Land Rover, I used black circles to replace the tyres with the same profile etc, but I found some that were a much more 'gnarly' tread pattern at the same size. I got a bit of increase in road noise, but the increased grip in the wet/snow/mud, was unreal.

Get the silent versions if you can, the ones with the foam strip inside. I was sceptical when I first heard but they are actually quite a bit quieter!

Any recommendation on popular garage chains that supply the contisilent tyres? Need a couple of new fronts for my car - L405 on 22s as well. So will go and try them out, though I guess it's the rears that make the big difference for noise.
