Well my introduction into Land rover ownership is not going well
2 months in and 1k done and the car will be in for a replacement intercooler as mine is split.
I know they are not high up in the reliability ranks but this is stupid.
Glad I have warranty.
Never run a disco without a warranty mate ! Keep buying the factory annual warranty at end of 3 yrs and then annually and its a brilliant car2 months in and 1k done and the car will be in for a replacement intercooler as mine is split.

Glad I have warranty.

Bought my HSE at the weekend. Chuffed to bits with it! So refined and comfortable. Plenty of grunt and all the gadgets you'd ever need.
My dad has had two Disco 3's - he loves them. He was amazed how much better the 4's are compared to his. His is on 130k now and has seen better days... So today I decided to buy him his own. Bought this HSE today (excuse the dirt!) and going to surprise him with it on Friday... can't wait!

Interesting, I was looking at Disco 3's so maybe I should also be looking at early Disco 4's!
Yes. The interior is considerably better than the D3 interior, which looked out of date when it was launched back in 2004 let alone 2009 when the D4 came along. 8 Speed gearbox in the D4 is also much better and more reliable compared to the 6Sp D3.
Although the engine is very similar, the D3 was always under powered for its weight. The D4 came with 241bhp and feels much better for it. Remaps will see it nudge 300, but it still weights 2.5 tonnes!
Lastly, LR had learned a lot from the D3, so quite a few of the faults had been ironed out. However, its a Land Rover so be prepared for the worst!
Even with the issue I had and poor service from my Local land rover dealership which I brought to the attention of land rover themselves I love my Disco 4.
Managed almost 30MPG driving to Beaulieu from Bristol which most is not Motorway.
So impressive MPG for a big 4x4. not that I bought it for that. Its comfy and lovely drive and plenty of power. And seems more than capable of tacking anything that stands in it way. As per most Disco's I gather. I don't know as this is my first

I had a D3 at the height of the £1.45/l and at £120/tank to fill and 21/mpg, it just became ridiculous. Absolutely loved it and swore I'd get another.
Can't stand the D5 (more for what it stands for and the direction LR have taken rather than the wonky numberplate), so picked up my 'new' D4 a couple of weeks ago. Loire Blue is the choice of champions btw
It's fantastic. Everything I remembered and more. LR experience day at the end of October as well.
