Series 1 parts

With me finally ticking off the buy a series 1 itch.

Now I'm trying to track down some of the parts that have been lost over the years.

It's a 1950 80", has been converted to a trails car way back in the 90s or 80s or even before then.

Still has its dvla log book though so I can, and will, run it on the road. Which should be a laugh.

I'm trying to find the correct spec door tops for it, they need to have the triangle hole to let your hand inside the car to unlatch the handle.

Was onto a lead but when the person went to check, it turns out someone has stolen the parts from the shed.

I can get new ones for £500 but that's a last resort as new parts would go against how the rest of the car looks.

Also need better front lights as the current ones are well past it and it's lost the D shape back lights at some point as well.

Anyone with said bits, or leads to them would be most welcome.

Is it a lights behind the grill or lights through the grill model ?

The Land-Rover Series One club is the best thing you can join assuming you haven't already. Fabulous forum and magazine "Legend" with a wealth of technical assistance and parts just a forum post away.

It's a lights through the grill model.

I'll need to sign up to the legend mag.
I'm on the series 1 club but not had any response yet on their for anything.

There are several LR magazines, like Land Rover Owner LRO and others

There are also special events, like Auto Jumble events. Watch out for one of those

Any joy AJM? I also need Series 1 door tops, for a 1955 86". Cant find any and so would consider new which I'll then paint in deep bronze green.

Currently no joy finding used door tops that aren't a baw hair off buying the new ones.

Plus I need a new bulkhead for the doors to fit.
This one has a home made effort and sits 2 inches taller than a normal one so everything is out of line till I change that.
£1640 for a new one of them.

So I'm leaving it till next year when I start my new job and can afford to spend that sort of cash on bits.

Going to slowly gather the parts then rip it apart and rebuild it.
