Hi can someone recommend an insurer that knows all about Land Rover and Range Rover models please, getting bored ringing the same places and them not knowing what it is,

Adrian Flux. Been through them for years.

You could try looking through one of the Land Rover magazines but some of the advertisers in them haven't got a clue.

.
Avoid at all costs.
Paid out on a claim against me without even confirming if my vehicle had been in a collision and at the same time tried to back date an increase in the premium to before the alleged collision.

if a modern one, any insurance company should be fine, if an older one just google classic car insurance or look in the back of any landrover magazine

Peter Best / Adrian Flux / Lancaster / etc

I'd go with Crosflow on this one but for different reasons. If you ever have to cancel a Flux policy mid term, they give a whole new meaning to the phrase "dry humping"

Who do you suggest & have you had any problems with them?

Same question as crossflow. Who do you suggest & have you had any problems with them?

Yes, I have had a problem. As my post suggests, it was to do with a policy that was cancelled after a couple of months. The premium refund was derisory.

Look around tinternet. There are many examples of this practice from Flux.

Thank you all for your comments I’m looking to purchase a 2005 petrol version so will try all recommendations, any pitfalls with 2005 RR Vogue

I just plugged my details in to Go Compare and let them do the shopping around.
It worked out no less costly than trawling through all the specialist adverts in the car mags.

Thanks for the reply. I may have worded it badly so after your experience who did you actually insure your Land Rover with & would you recommend them?

Was your Land Rover standard or modified & who did you end up with?

My Classic is petrol but on LPG & has a stainless steel sports exhaust. If you choose a standard unmodified one then likely you'll be able to put it through one of the online quote sites.
If it's modified - including LPG - then the majority don't want to know or the premium rockets. Saga wanted me to take it to one of two garages they nominated to be inspected before they would quote even though I do actually have an LPGA certificate.rolleyes

As to potential issues I'd suggest you have a look through specialist forums such as:
http://www.fullfatrr.com/forum/index.php
or
http://www.rangerovers.net/
Appreciate the latter is American but lots of info on petrol engines.

It was a 50th Anny which was sold, hence the cancellation of the policy, so I didn't need to insure it after that.

I've had very good experience with A-Plan so for anything that the "Sheds" may find difficult, I'd probably use them.

I use NFU - for 20+ years, they know all about Land Rovers and when you ring them, you speak to the same person each time (until they retire!)

What are you looking for?

Everyday use, maybe commuting and business, on something recentish and standard?
Modified?
Classic?

Standard. It's with Admiral now, for a couple of hundred quid. But then again, I'm an old fart.
