Has anyone tried building this? I want to but I’m not sure my LEGO skills will be sufficient. hehe

£160 is a bit steep! When the stang arrived sold the 90xs, it did 400 miles in the last year, for the dog! She has now got used to the SVX, but with roof down gets a bit excited.
Still back to subject, in top spec looks good.

So I finally dug out the pictures of the new Defender that I spotted parked up in Woodstock...

The best angles I could get, given the proximity of other parked cars and trying to avoid getting run over taking the offside pictures... wink

Bearing in mind it has been raining today found this remarkably spotless, and I mean spotless example at Birmingham Airport today!

Note: no Prototype Vehicle stickers.

I sold my 90 Xs a while ago but still have the svx soft top, like the new one apart from that ‘block ‘ between the rear door and the rear side window. Do they all have that ?

They do but I believe you can ask for it not to be fitted but can’t be 100% sure on that.

It's OK.
What don't I like?
That pointless square on the sides.
Beltline too high, combined with deep body sides making it appear cumbersome.
The view over the bonnet doesn't look great.
The corners of the front aren't well defined from the driver's perspective - as opposed to being obvious on RRC and Defender. Visibility of the front corners helps positioning in tight spaces like between trees.

For some reason my pictures are wrong way round.

This is the inside of that square on a 110.
It’s got a few practical reasons for being there.

I do agree it’s not the best looking thing though.

IIRC at the reveal this delete option was referred to as the "Vision Pack" or similar smile No doubt a cost option...

Following up my own post, Jalopnik got into this & got a reply from Land Rover:

Land Rover said:
The Signature Graphic (the square piece) is not featured on the U.S. 2020MY Defender 90 First Edition, but is shown in global assets. It’s fitted standard on the 110 due to this area carrying body structure in the longer 5-door variants (as seen in the attached infographic). The shorter 90 does not have this extra structure piece, so the Signature Graphic on the 90 is purely for aesthetics.
On the 110 it hides the C pillar and has a somewhat practical purpose, but on the 90 it seems largely to create a blind spot...

Jalopnik article here: https://jalopnik.com/the-2020-land-rover-defender-...

If you go through the LR configurator, you'll see that in fact you have to pay extra for the "signature graphic" on the 90:

It will be interesting to see how many opt for the option...

Friend of mine said that Land-Rover should have used a model name other than Defender.

Why? Is he an expert in new car marketing?

Probably not, but then all things considered it appears neither are JLR.
