The satnav on my 2005 RRS is not so much broken as lost. In short it doesn't know where it is. It registers all the movements just from the wrong starting point. Any ideas as to possible fix?

Mine is the same. Im pretty sure according to what I can find out on the RRS forums, its a loose antenna cable or failed antenna. I bought an alternative (cheap) antenna as its generic part but never got around to fitting it. Need to strip the roof lining at the rear to get to it. To be honest ive been using my phone for navigation for so many years now, fixing the car nav hasnt been a priority.

Long shot, but have you changed any of your phone chargers etc

Unplug anything charger related as an experiment

I purchased a genuine fake from eBay and it was causing havoc, but took me a while to realise, I think the first bunch of times I used it my phone was already charged so the charger wasn’t kicking out much, so didnt cause problems

A long shot but easy test

Is your bluetooth connectivity still working?

There is a reason I ask.... I have a 2005 RR Supercharged and a couple of years back things started to go a bit mental with the sat nav, music etc.

A decent local independent garage diagnosed the issue as a leaking tailgate rubber... moisture got into the bluetooth unit which has, essentially, an optical 'through' system - optical in/out and through to the next unit down on the stack and so on. A sort of cascade of optical signal. The bluetooth unit, being at the top of the stack was passing corrupted/dead signals along.

This was fixed by blanking off the bluetooth unit with an optical prism (a Land Rover device costing about £10) and everything was fixed.

I had this problem with my 2016 Disco Sport recently. The DAB also stopped working, as did the remote start feature on the InControl app. The dealer said it needed a new aerial/roof pod thing which they had to order and was fitted yesterday. Eye-wateringly expensive, but it is all working now.
