You can't spec. rear entertainment anymore. Apparently, it's old tech and everything is going via their 'click and go' system now. Which is fine, however the only brackets they offer either fit a few Apple devices (no thanks) or old Samsung tablets from 2014! Nothing that is universal. It's only a bracket and doesn't integrate with the infotainment in any way. Just seems odd you're so limited.

Yes, the lack of rear seat entertainment seems like a strange omission from what is, essentially, a family car. Mind you, it was always a bit of a half-hearted attempt but we find it useful for the long journeys. It could have been executed much better.

Have they improved the crap rear seats at all on the updated Disco?

The middle row or the back row? I have sat in the pre facelift and the seats seemed fine?

Sorry, middle row. The ones in the boot are actually better! The middle row sits too low so with your feet flat on the floor your knees are high in the air. And for children it means the bottom of the window is quite high so they struggle to see out - our children both loved the RRS we borrowed because they could finally see out of the rear windows!

Land Rover ballsed so many things up with the D5 yet it still remains a great car, it could have been absolutely fanstastic.

Hmm I'm only 5' 9" so didn't notice that in the middle row guess if you're taller might be an issue alright. I found the middle row seats more comfortable than my Q7.

Yes, middle row much improved. Mrs Ettore has just got one in the seemingly universal PH spec - D300 R Dynamic HSE (Portofino Blue). We had one of the first D5’s previously which she loved far more than our FFRR so she’s gone back.

I have to say that it is quite a bit better - new engine is great, far more economical, equally grunty but with a nice timbre. New pivi pro tech is night and day better and there are improved materials and finishes everywhere. The standard spec is less than our first car but, upon checking, so is the price!

Factory order went in today...couldn't chisel anything more off but given the lead times not much can be done...R Dynamic D300 SE in Portofino blue with 22 inch silver wheels...sensible spec and think it'll look good in the flesh...test drove a D250 S and it was very refined and smooth. I was impressed with the pivi pro system and the quality of the display... very well integrated to the dash also. Something nice to look forward to hopefully Nov at the latest.

How much did they knock off? Drive the deal seem to have them with about £7-9k off, depending on model.

Good choice on the Portofino! It’s a lovely colour in the sun!

7-9k seems like alot most I got from Carwow was 5.5k and my local dealer was able to match it...may have been able to squeeze more if I shopped it to more dealers but that felt like too much hard work!

Out of interest, have you had previous cars from your local dealer? I know mine hates me as I just go in with the ‘drivethedeal’ price and expect them to match it. But we’ve had four cars from them so it’s repeat business.

Just been looking and with 7k off an HSE I’d be pretty close to making the numbers work on a new one. Seems a bit pointless though with 15 months of manufacturers warranty left on my current one.

I’m in my fourth (since 2014) and have had no problems. I don’t think they’re perfect but I don’t think they’re any different to the rest tbh.
