I live in West Yorkshire I’ve had a quote on the new Range Rover sport of £5,500

Yet the other options of a Macan gts a Mclaren 650 a gallardo are all around 1300-1500

Having seen reports today on RRS forum that impossible for some to get insurance (eg, NFU won't quote unless you already have a policy with them) thought I should check - and £860 for me with NFU, which is cheaper than they woudl want to cover my XC90 T8 at one third the value!

When my Dad picked up his new RRS in January the dealer was very open about the fact that some insurers won’t touch them with a barge pole.

In the end it went up from his old RRS from £700 to £800 which, as it’s West Yorkshire, seems reasonable. He still faffs about with a stop-lock on it!

This all seems mental to me in the east coast of Scotland.

My new shape Range Rover sport was around £400 fully comp last Sept, and the new big RR Autobiography that we took delivery of last week was £25 a year cheaper.

The new one i had to confirm it had a tracker though; i don't have trackers on anything else as I don't want anything back thats been stolen and ragged.

NFU said anything over £75k has to have a Thatcham approved tracker

They've insured cars for me above that value without one.

Evoques from 7 years ago had trackers as standard.
Not sure how your sport didn't have one.

It did; I choose not to activate it or pay the subscription.

Was it second hand?
The tracking is included for three years from new.

Judging from the neighbourhood watch emails it's about one a week in my area (SW11), always Range Rovers, including another one last night.

Oh and catalytic converters from everyone else's cars

New.

The tracker is indeed fitted from new.

The secure tracker pro is £340 for 36 month subscription as per my invoice.

Can anyone name the insurers that aren’t covering Range Rovers?

Similarly on our SW4 Facebook site. Volvos, Mercedes, Porsches and BMWs seldom touched it seems

Land Rover Insurance themselves won't insure them anymore, amusingly.

I just got a quote from my broker for my incoming FFRR AB PHEV. It was as much as my GT3, Taycan, 992 Sport Classic and Lotus Emira combined!!!!! And they insisted on a 3rd party tracker and immobiliser.
