At the MWC show later this month, Nokia is releasing a 3310 'homage' for $59. So it probably won't be exactly the same phone, but hopefully it will still be a) indestructible and b) have a battery that lasts for aaaages smile and c) have Snake. If it looks like the 3310 with new bits inside, it would make a good 2nd phone for about £50.

it would be nice to see it as the same model, although they say homage.. so who knows. perhaps it will look like it, but have a high res colour screen? much as I love my smartphone I do sometimes think how I miss using older phones. much as I love the 3310 there are other nokia phones that are lighter and slimmer that i would much prefer (like nokia 6700)

Could it be a Nokia 105 in a new body? I've got one I use when buying/selling stuff and it's really nice to have a light phone where the battery lasts ages (weeks...) that doesn't keep wanting to update itself...Even has snake!
But it couldn't be my only phone, text messages displayed in the order they come in instead of in conversations gets annoying really quickly, and typing anything takes ages.

Can't see why anyone would want one in 2017 except for nostalgia, £50 is a bit steep.

+1

It's a great second/emergency phone.

I keep looking on ebay at the phones I had back in the day and am tempted to buy one for a laugh, 3210/3310 included (but I preferred the shape of the 3210, I had mine for 2 weeks before I dropped it in a puddle and killed it)

But I'll instantly miss all that I have become accustomed to, my sim card won't fit and I'll use it for about 3 days then get bored.

Shame, I'd love a 6310i again, I've always said that if I ever buy a shed with a hard wired cradle for one I'll buy a handset and pretend to be a powerfully built photocopier salesman for a week...

Never understood how Nokia crashed. Looking at their sales figures they sold 150 million of some phones.

Suppose it was just a case of not moving with the times and not expecting any competition. Symbian OS and came from Psion was is bit bizarre.

Although I wanted the N95. I loved the old Nokia 9000 communicator.

This new one will probably be some android thing squeezed into the same case and eat batteries for breakfast.

their operating system was never really as good as android or apple. peoople moved on from wanting a solid phone with a small screen to a more fragile one with touch screen and tons of apps, camera and big screen and more resolution.

Probably just a marketing ploy to get their name in the media again.

The coming models for their relaunch as a brand have been confirmed as being Android handsets.

People moved on from wanting a good portable phone to having a half decent pocket size computer. Nokia made good phones, they just didn't do computers all that well (Apple and Google just did it better).

It's a completely different competence. If personal transport tomorrow changes towards "teleporters" or "personal drones", how many car manufacturers will be ready for it?

There was little they could have done other than to completely reinvent themselves, but the change hit fast and it hit hard. No-one saw it coming, not Nokia, not Microsoft or Blackberry.

Nokia is the 2nd biggest feature phone maker in the world. Nokia is alive and kicking in cheap phones.

Oh dear, looks like they missed the point. That thing looks like a flimsy thing with plastic from some ex Soviet rejected project

20hours talk time and up to 31 days standby time. that's crazy.

I would totally own one as long as someone can get a work around for whatsapp to work on it.

Wifi and WhatsApp and I would have bought one no question (terrible phone reception where I live), bit gutted.

only has 2.5g, no wifi.

Good as a back up phone but not much else, will prob buy one as a toy, could be a good "mp3 player" to save me running my battery down on my Nexus 6P.
