Had to send off...well everything to the EU a few years into directorship.

Passport, address, telephone numbers, bank address, sort code, everything you can think of.

This is worrying now because all UK businesses will have all their details on some database in the EU when we are no longer in the EU. Does this not worry anyone else?

I changed address recently and in light of leaving the EU, should I be sending the EU new details?

Surprised you don't have to send it all to the US too given that they think they own the internet...

Could you please repeat what you've said but a bit more clearly, as I've got no idea what you are talking about.

Who / where in the EU did you have to sent all that information to?

Also, why are you worried about them having such information, either now or post Brexit?

Strange situation.

What EU organisation is asking for all this data?

In the absence of a clearer explanation, it sounds to me rather like your company works on EU funded projects (either directly or as a sub-contractor) or supplies goods or services directly to the EU...or you have in some other way been in receipt of EU funding (such as business grants).

In some these cases, the EU is within its right to obtain information about the directors of companies it deals with.

If none of these apply in your case, there is no reason for the EU (as in the institution) to request and hold such information, pre, during or post Brexit.

Maybe he's been contacted by an honest and trustworthy Bulgarian businessman who has a large fund of cash he needs to "park" in a UK bank account for a short while?

One of my businesses sells kindle titles through Amazon KDP, which is nearly every country in the world.

I don't get why Brussels needs all my info when I am registered at the companies house in the UK. Further more they asked for all my bank details which even companies house did not ask for (IIRC, that was a long time ago).

Doesn't anyone else find it somewhat disturbing that every company in the UK has their details logged in Brussels because we are in the EU but we are about to leave the EU and the EU is not happy with that decision?

just give incorrect info when you don't want to give your real info out. ie wrong bank details, wrong phone numbers.
I wouldn't trust them either. if you don't trust whoever is asking for the info don't give it or give them a made up whatever to keep them happy.

Who has actually contacted you?

You keep referring to a "they"?

What actual "they" are you talking about?

Does it have a name?
A postal address?
A web address?

Dear Sir,

We enclose a copy of the details that we hold on your company for next years European trade directory
Please check them, then sign and return this letter with any amendments.

We will then send you an invoice for 900 Euros for your entry,
because you haven't noticed that this letter is actually an order

?????????????

The EU in general don't require these details.
Is it a particular customer asking for it?
If not then I'd be finding out exactly who you sent those details to and what they've now used them for.

I've just re-read the first post again, you've sent off EVERY piece of information required to impersonate you or your company and you didn't think it was suspicious?
