I have a business that wants to list on Amazon.com but they are proving very obstinate in approving us because they want to see invoices from an authorised distributor for the product and don't seem to understand that because we are the manufacturer we don't have invoices. I'm literally having the most bone-headed email exchange at the moment with them where they are saying they understand we are the manufacturer and can't provide invoices but - when they then copy/paste a standard answer - to resolve the issue we need to provide invoices. And of course they don't do phone calls so the only medium for dealing with them is these email/ticket systems.

Has anyone any experience in dealing with Amazon? I could certainly use an expert to help me sort this out and would be happy to pay for their time. Please let me know if you can make any recommendations. Thank you.

Why not just issue yourself an invoice, so they can tick their box.

Really? Is it that easy? Are we just dealing with box-ticking monkeys here? Is that what I've missed?

Have they asked for a US tax ID yet?

Took me a while to learn how to jump that hurdle for clients wanting to sell ebooks on Amazon.

OK, sending the invoice didn't work. I could really use help here. can anyone recommend someone who knows how to jump through Amazon's hoops and get an account set up?

Ring the customer care number and ask them to put your call through to seller support in the states.

Already done and we ended up going round in circles where they ask me for an invoice form the manufacturer...which is us! Supposedly they are calling me back but I am not holding my breath.

To my original request: can anyone recommend someone to deal with Amazon on my behalf or guide me through this? Happy to pay for someone's time.

Would it be worth raising your issues through their complaints system? It might flag the situation up with someone who's more flexible/helpful.

You'd think, right?

But nope. Just a bunch of button-pushing monkeys.

I don’t know what category you’re listing in, but don’t you have to register as a brand first?

I seem to remember that that was what we had to do.

You then get a period in which you can create listings.

Again, this seems like a sensible suggestion. However, when we click the link to register as a brand, the link doesn't work. When we try and say this to the Amazon "support" team, they just send us the same link again.

How can Amazon be so utterly, utterly st to deal with? I am seriously going to write about 30 letters and send them to random senior people in Amazon HQ London that I find on LinkedIn until one of them calls me and I can talk sense to these people.

Amazon is a really clunky platform, it always surprises me it does so well.
We sell our own products on there and have for some years, I don’t remember there being many hurdles to jump but that might have changed recently.
Can you get someone to create a spoof invoice for you? I could probably do it if you want, and can explain what it needs to contain or refer to.

Tried that by getting one of the people we supply to create one but they didn't buy it.

If your called Aquarius Manufacturing create an internal invoice to Aquarius Retail, no £ changes hands but this would be good practise to do anyway.
Amazon will accept this invoice but may call Aquarius Manufacturing to check your a customer - it will work.

Also the none working link means your not entitled to register but I wouldnt know why, I suggest you use UK support as a guide.

Try using incognito browser or similar. There maybe some UK/US cookies getting muddled up?

I've had some issues with certain elements on websites not working because of uBlock - however that was for buttons not clicking through, rather than actual underlined HTML links, which it seems Amazon have sent? I was wondering if the underlying code for the link could also be picked up/blocked by any browser plugs ins/extensions/utilities etc.
