I have set up a company to help people move, downsize and sort through after someone has died, sending items to recycle, ebay or local auction.
As well as this, I want to do voluntary and freelance work for museums and national trust style homes.
One museum has already asked for Freelance insurance and I have looked at PL. The trouble is, I don't fit the form pigeon holes.
Can anyone advise please?

Phone them up and get a more bespoke quote. It may be that they will only insure you for the one part of your self-employment operation so may need a separate policy for each part to cover you correctly.

Mine is a bit different in that I have a Ltd company but then do other self-employed things outside of the Ltd company, I needed two separate insurances to cover the two aspects as they saw them as two businesses...which in fairness they are. It may be the same in your case, even though you're not operating them as separate entities if that makes sense.

Hiscox are good for small companies I use their insurance through the broker Marsh who I’ve been happy with for 5 years.

more than happy to have our team look at this for you. PM me your contact details if you want independent advice.

NB - careful how you use the word recycling. once you are moving waste for people there is additional legislation for you to comply with IIRC its a waste carriers licence...but this also hikes your insurance
