New shop : Display of public liability insurance etc ?

Do shops have to have on display their public liability insurance certificate ? I know Employee insurance can be made available online for them to see etc .But not sure if a "digital" copy of public liability able to view via a PC etc is legal?

This issue is twofold:

1. there is no legal requirement to have Public Liability, so no requirement to display proof of it.
2. As it isn't a legal requirement, there is no need to certify it, ergo certificates of public liability aren't issued. its simply noted on your policy whether you have the cover or not
