Personally I would have liked offices with RV's between 15001 and 51k get something (again if loosing income) as companies will still have outgoings to pay out

Just a talking point at the moment though
It will be interesting to see if anyone with an office which is closed due to Covid takes legal action to get an exemption. I would suggest anyone that has closed an office temporarily due to Covid at the very least asks the Council to give an exemption. Chances are they will say no, but they make not, and if they do say no if someone does challenge it through the Court you have laid out a marker to go back and claim later.

It seems there has been recognition of the lack of further support to self employed/sole traders etc. after furlough had been extended for employees.

70% Sounds good to me smile I've never been expecting anything and was very pleased with the previous grant smile

Did they mention what three months period of taxable profits they will be looking at?

The original SEISS was based on an average of taxable profits for tax years 2016/17, 2017/18 and 2018/19.

The same. So basically you should get 10% less than the last payment I believe.

Re the SEISS grant Iam not sure what is happening with it .Does anyone else have their details reset when they try to log in to the portal?

Apparently I am eligible and have submitted all relevant details but have not had any further contact from HMRC which they said would happen 15-18 of May.

No worries

Just been asked to provide a list of properties getting enhanced retail relief (inc hospitality etc) where rv is between 51001 and 55000 and 55001 and 60000k (200ish properties)

we have just over £3 million to disburse

Think to get grant they will need to prove they have lost money due to CV19

Personally I would have liked offices with RV's between 15001 and 51k get something (again if loosing income) as companies will still have outgoings to pay out

Just a talking point at the moment though
Go and talk your talking point into the ear of your superiors smile
Tomoorows job
Any further news on these on the grapevine? Having just spoken with Tower Hamlets, apparently they're expecting to have some sort of application form up by the end of next week, but they're unable to tell me anything about the scheme at the moment.

So directly in contradiction of the Govt's published information at https://www.gov.uk/guidance/apply-for-the-coronavi...?

UK Govt said:
You’re potentially eligible if your business:

is based in England
has fewer than 50 employees
has fixed building costs such as rent
was trading on 11 March 2020
has been adversely impacted by the coronavirus

We’ve asked local councils to prioritise businesses such as:

small businesses in shared offices or other flexible workspaces, such as units in industrial parks or incubators
regular market traders
bed and breakfasts paying council tax instead of business rates
charity properties getting charitable business rates relief, which are not eligible for small business rates relief or rural rate relief
Outstanding if so smile

That sounds wrong unless your RV is over 51000

They are going on your property description from the VO

You need to contact them ASAP explain that the public are and do come into the showromm to purchase items

if you have a website that says this then give them the link to that.

Find the councillor for the ward your business is in and contact them as well...making sure you mention the people you employ
Yes involved local councillor but the Rates Department at the Council still say we are not entitled even though I have offered them phot's or to even come to our showroom / shop, I have emailed Councillor again and told her we are not happy and can we take things higher or we will be making 3 staff redundant.

Key thing is they gave councils discretion so you could have a differnt scheme in each LA

Moves all the fall out to councils

Amount of money is very small £3.4 million to us with 12k properties... We have spent neatly £70 illion on the 10 and 25k grants with over 200 still to pay

I hear you. But it just means the Govt-published information is in all likelihood a complete nonsense. And, yes, I realise you have no say in that, and I'm not moaning at you!

Thus far I've had no business rates relief (wrong type of business), no grant (wrong size of premises), no SEISS (wrong type of earnings), no Bounce Back Loan (wrong bank) and so on, whilst my premises has been closed for 12 weeks.

Next step is going to be an application for Hardship Relief to my council.
