Can anybody recommend a good affordable landline number redirect service to mobile. I know there are lots of businesses offering this, but there are probably a lot of people that will inflate the price. If you can recommend a company to me please do!

EE do it (owned by BT). What you may want is a Pocket Line. Same existing Land Line number converted to a virtual number and you simply divert it. Once converted to a virtual number you can not change it back to a fixed land line. £10/m all in.

I'd guess your existing mobile provider can do it but that may not be the case.

Tamar telecom do it for £4.99+vat / month.

I use them and can divert from a standard land line number to up to10 mobile phone numbers either simultaneously or in turn.

You can also set up a greeting message before it dials the numbers.

You can also set opening closing times to forward calls to voicemail which can be accessed on your phone or PC.

https://www.tamartelecommunications.co.uk/

I have a referral code HAJ2907 which gives us both £25 if you use it when you join. Win - Win.

I would recommend them regardless of the referral though

yay.com

Ive got a landline number and then the yay.com app on my phone. You can use a voip phone in the office to if you prefer.

It was recomended by several people on another forum I use.

Think its about £3.99 a month.

If you generally have decent data reception, https://www.sipgatebasic.co.uk/ is free. Doesn't divert to a mobile, but you install a VOIP app on your mobile. Voicemail is also free.

Getting the right VOIP app is important. I use Groundwire no iOS - importantly it uses Apple's native notifications infrastructure to "wake up" the app when you get an incoming call, which means you're not stuck with a VOIP app draining batter or (worse) going to sleep and not ringing.

If you're on Vodaphone, their OneNet Express service is about £10 per month. I used it for years, but it can be rather clunky to get set up. It is reliable however.

I use Tamar too. Used for about 2 years and never had a problem. You get to pick your phone number too, some are free or a small cost for better numbers. I got my area code that i wanted to cover and easy to remember no. for free - 01### 442468

How long have you been using sipgate? If you take a 'free' number with them, can you then port that number? I'm always worried about a 'free' service that may lock you in then start charging or not allowing you to move. I need a landline number for my small sole trader business, just for show really as I'll use my mobile for all calls.

I know a good service Telnum. https://telnum.net/services/call-forwarding/ It is possible to set up call forwarding to a mobile or landline number, or the other way around.

We use ereceptionist which offers a virtual PBX, ie dial 1 for sales, 2 for accounts etc and it redirects to mobiles for each different department and can do a ring around if no one answers.
You can have various 'local' landline numbers that are really virtual and it works quite well, we have used them for 6 or 7 years now and dont have any fixed landlines anymore - even our internet is wireless.

I took a BT landline to EE (same group, different products). It's only me in the office so a simple set-up, but unlimited data SIM that acts as mobile hotspot for internet, then a 'pocket landline' which forwards calls to mobile (but outgoing calls are from mobile number). I added the mobile number to the business listing on Google so if you're on certain devices it will say the company name calling rather than a mobile number.
