SendGrid Alternative - Email Deliverability API
Discussion
Hi Guys,
Could I call on the collective wisdom please?
Looking for an alternative to SendGrid who we have used in the past to send bulk email from websites/apps.
We intend needing 50-100k per month on a dedicated IP. These aren't email marketing campaigns but emails generated from a system to notify users of various processes, transactions, registrations etc etc
Any pointers for who is the the current go to? Someone suggested Mailgun?
Any help or advice appreciated - thanks!

Amazon SES works well for us - and has saved us a small fortune compared to others.
Dedicated IPs are $24.95/month.
If your apps are on EC2 then you get 62K sends/month for free. We sometimes dip under that but usually send100-500k/month.
Over that, or if your apps are hosted elsewhere, it's $1 per 10K emails.
Reporting, and support, are pretty basic but if you don't need your hand holding it's fine.

We used Mailgun and had major problems with them shutting our account down due to reports of spam. But they wouldn't tell/show us the offending emails, and they wouldn't just shut down the one offending client account - they'd shut down our whole account for all our clients, not switching any of it back on until we'd changed literally every password and API credential we had. Which was a major faff and caused a huge amount of disruption to our clients.
Given that we only had a few SaaS type portals on the platform sending transactional emails to signed up users/employees, I'm highly doubtful of the reports of spam.
The third time it happened in the same of a few months we didn't even both getting any of the Mailgun accounts back online, we simply switched to Postmark which ended up being quicker to set up anyway. Been using them a year and had no problems at all. Very much recommend them!

Also a Postmark user, have tried most of the players in this market and find Postmark great – their UI, integrations and docs are spot on.
