Ye gods

Sold an item with p&p to seller. Paid for. Sold another item with p&p to same seller. Paid for.

Obviously I’ve sent both small items in one package. I’ve partial refunded him £2.90 or whatever it was for the second items p&p.

Can I add the first tracking number to the second listing? Can I fk. Can I mark it as dispatched? Can I fk. Can I go round in a million circles looking for a solution? Oh yes.

I also want ebay to refund me the unrequited p&p for the second items.

You made the fatal mistake of trying to be helpful. You stepped outside the system. Now you must suffer the consequences.

Exactly. And such an obvious thing that must occur with many buyers and sellers. Why pay for two lots of postage and give evri two lots of packages for no reason. Plus I won’t have proof of delivery for 2nd item etc

I'm not disputing this and in the old days I had Combined Postage profiles with discounts for multiple sales sent in the same profile.

Unfortunately there is a reason - not getting screwed over by ebay. Sorry buyers you get no concession from me now, I need to keep things simple in case of future dispute

In addition I don’t know what will ultimately happen as from ebay’s perspective I haven’t posted it. Will they end up clawing my money back.

Sure but eBay didnt ask for an ID scan, did they?
On the link they sent me it does, yes.

They specifically redirect me to a "fix this" page that demands I upload ID.

I have never once been asked by eBay to provide any form of ID

Have you done over £1200 / 100 item sales in 12 months?

I have and all I had to do was type my NI number. No ID scan required.

What point are you tying to make here? That I'm a liar?

All it shows is that eBay are inconsistent and we already knew that.

You can accept that eBay asked me for photo ID or you can refuse to accept it. I don't really care either way.

edit: As it happens, I changed my personal details (changed my first name) and this may have provoked it. Who knows.

Ditto. But the previous poster said they'd been asked for nothing at all. If you do the sales I mentioned you'll be asked for NI

You're may be on the cusp of being asked - how many items does that relate to though? If it's 2 high value items they might see it as offloading personal items, if it's 100 x £15 items it'll appear more like you're running a business (or like many including me, a side hustle - which I concede is still a business....)

My point was quite clear: all I had to do was type my NI number. No ID scan required.

No more, no less.

You sound a little defensive and touchy though. No need, particularly as you don't care. And why would you?

You might have noticed that I wasn't replying to you originally anyway. But you asked me to clarify, I did.

This reporting to HMRC is only triggered if a seller meets the reporting thresholds: either total sales of £1,740 or more or 30 or more transactions within a calendar year.
