On August 24th 1987 - 5 planets were on the same elliptical longitude this last
happened 800 years ago. This move preceded the 1987 crash.
On August 6th 2008 - Mars-Uranus had a crash cycle preceding the 2008
collapse.
This August 1st +/- 1 week 5 planets will be aligned this will equal a cardinal
climax and has not happened in 1,000 years ,so watch out stocks markets. The
S&P500 index having formed a Head and Shoulders pattern suggests a
breakdown target of 880 in the cash market the 61.8% retracement of the move
since the 2008 lows, and for the Dow to 8,300. This is my call to happen by early
October so a short sharp decline in stocks is potentially brewing
So the collapse in equity values won't be caused by the impending massive decline in future revenues then. biggrin

No don't be silly...its allnto do with lunar cycles and planetary alignment! Surely that is much more plausible? smile

Every time this thread pops back onto my "My Stuff" link I read the title as "Is there any city traders on here".

I have no idea why.

I just needed to tell someone.

As you know, not looking at the Dow, but had quick squint at the charts for 1987 (and 1929) and here's my 2p's worth:

  • The 24/8/1987 summer high in the Dow was due to same cycle that caused the 3/9/1929 summer high. Just 58 years apart, so not a "centuries unique event"
  • If the "same cycle" is going to cause a summer high again, the high will arrive on 8/9 September 2010. The final high (before your suggested "crash") arriving on Monday 18 October 2010. Place your bets now folks....

BTW, am at the Lambo bash this Sat/Sun at Silverstone Retard, if you want to say hello

Just a note...these are not my suggestions. These are from an IB. Just to clarify.

Hey, apart from one or two on here, we are quite tolerant of diverse ideas about the markets.

The problem from using the position of the planets as timing tools are:

  • Does one use a Geocentric or a Heliocentric perspective?
  • Does one use Siderial or Synodic revolutions?
  • Does one use all of the above?
  • There are therefore literally scores and scores of possible time periods of "events" (eg: alignments or oppositions) happening in the sky from the above choices
  • Given this, there always will be instances where celestial "events" match with market turns, but then they don't work, then they do, after a "phase shift".
  • If there is a link, there is a link. The link holds good all the time; and not now and again. Accuracy and consistency is the key measure.
