I have a second email address that I created especially for PH. It is also being bombarded with extremely dodgy pornographic sounding email titles - I daren't open them and just keep deleting them. I would also be grateful for any advice.

Please bear in mind I am a technodinosaur!!

I've had about 30+ viruses today in emails ("thankyou", "screensaver", "approved").

Just keep your virus definitions up to date, delete any dodgy emails without opening them, and wait for it to stop.

sobig is really a pain in the @rse - we have blocked hundreds of messages today at work containing the worm.

info on the symantec site is here ...

www.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/w32.sobig.f@mm.html

They say it is easy to get rid of - but without some form of email filtering happening as messages are received you will continue to get them for some time.

If you use Outlook you can automatically delete messages using a rule maybe set-up on the message subject (for example 'Re: Wicked screensaver') which will at least delete the messages for you..

Edited to say copy and paste the whole link into your browser as the @ breaks the link...

If you are using outlook or outlook express I also suggest to you turn off your preview window. A virus can get loaded that way. To do it click on view and you should see the option "preview pane" click on that to turn off the preview. To view and email you double click on it. To delete you can select and delete without opening it at all.

Suggest you also install Adaware or Spybot available from download.com to remove any instances that reside in the registry or startup files.
