You call that a tent??? That's not a tent!
This is a tent!!
To be precise, a Vango Diablo 600...
Which I bought online, sight unseen, thinking ooh, a 6-man tent... that sounds ideal for a family of 4 with room for toys and stuff.. Without realising that it slept 6 people just in the bedrooms! If I allow people to sleep in the lounge and the atrium/dining room, then 15-18 people would not be uncomfortable!
Although I bought it online, they stuffed up the delivery, so I had to go and collect it from Black's in Kingston. When I told the nice young lady on the till who I was and why I was there, she said she'd need to get a colleague currently with another customer to get it. I asked if there was a reason why she couldn't get it herself, and her answer was "yes. I can't lift it!"
The thing comes in a bag approximately the same size as a whole, fully assembled Caterham, with another bag for the poles and pegs!
The real irony is that so far, I've only used it solo, and thanks to my bumbling incompetent and soon to be ex-communicated (if I can persuade the Pope to excommunicate an agnostic) Father in Law, it looks like I will also be using it solo at Pistonfest, now that we have no childcare!
All I have to decide on now is my strategy... Arrive on Friday morning and spend 3 hours assembling it solo so that I can bask in the glory of later arrivees amazement whilst getting slowly sozzled in the hallway, or arrive later and have everybody piss themselves laughing at the size of the thing before pitching in to show how it should be assembled, and then wondering how they've ended up assembling ny leviathan for me whilst I've been getting slowly sozzled watching them!
Oh bugger. I've just let slip the secret, haven't I!

Your tent has an Atrium My house only has a hallway. Having said that, my house is actually smaller than your tent!
This tread needs locking, its getting just too in-tents, (get it?)

At PF05 some bods turned up on the Friday night with something like yours and within minutes loads of us had pitched in to help and up she went like a flash - shame about the steak we had on the BBQ which we forgot about and when we got back was only fit for sticking in the sole of a shoe!!!

My wife wants us to buy a new tent for this year, despite us having a very decent Coleman Bispace 400 that has a dome living area and a 4-person tunnel tent sleeping area off it.
The entirely reasonable justification for this is that our son is now 12½, snores like a chainsaw and often smells, so she wants a tent with two sleeping areas plus a living space.
Costco have a decent Coleman that has a huge dome living area and 3 sleeping tunnels off it which we think is a bit big, although it looks like even it can't rival Kermit's "canvas palace".
Anyway, if anyone wants to buy our Bispace I'll be putting it up on the PH classifieds this evening.

All these 200-man tents I keep seeing are prompting me to just bugger it and go get that 10-man tent - seeing as it'll be one of the smallest there

Go on, you know you want to. At this rate there will only be enough room for about 3 tents on the field!!
