Hi all, not sure if anybody can assist please but I am having issues logging onto both Messenger and the Facebook app on my iPhone XR. I have tried all the usual, updating to the latest OS (15.1), uninstalling and reinstalling both apps, changing passwords etc. and nothing seems to work. There is no error code, it just says:

Login Error
An unexpected error occurred, please try logging in again.

I have tried google search and also YouTube for help and nothing seems to work. I am logged into Facebook on both an iPad and Macbook Pro with no issues so it's not a problem with my account.

Hope somebody can help.

It seems more linked to Exchange talking to the Calendar :

and to be honest thats why I use the Calendar as it groups various ones I have - work exchange, personal gmail, family / group iCals.
its (been) a great collective view across sources.....

I assume a fix is on the way

OK my Monterey upgrade has borked search in Outlook. Spotlight works but search in outlook is broken.

No fix apparently (lots of threads)... so I will be rolling back until fixed.

Monterey seems to have bricked my Safari. Webpages half loading and buttons not working! PH is ok though.

Looked up the fix and the first option coming up is to reset Safari. Second options gives some google DNS address which doesn't do anything.

edit: I tell a lie - adding 8.8.8.8 as a DNS seems to have fixed it.

I gave up on Monterey and reverted to Big Sur.

In terminal does anyone know how to get back to the original user? For some reason my is on "richmbp@unifi". I have a unifi network but no idea how or why that is mentioned? Terminal still works as it should do.... I am a bit confused to as why this is like this.

What do you get when you type "hostname" in Terminal? For reference I get lewiss-MPB.routername.

no idea why. It always used to be as yours is which was something along the lines of rich@richmbp


It seems like its picking it up from my router/networks system as when connected to a hotspot it reverts to 'richmbp@Rich-MacBook-Pro'

Odd...

Is no one else in an endless loop of FUBAR since the devices updated themselves overnight ?

My iMac, iphone (and less so now my MBP) are all saying I need reconnect my Apple ID.
Then wont saying there is a fault.

Its all borked here at my end.

I believe it's a known issue, as some of the Apple services were down last night.

I have the same (although only on 2 of 4 devices), and have tried restarting, logging completely out and back in, and checking the password via an web browser (which works).

Sometimes it goes away after a few attempts, but usually reappears a few minutes later.

I had this earlier today. Rebooting didn't work. Changing password didn't work. Signing out via settings and signing back in somehow worked eventually after many codes being sent back and forth.

I might sound like an old fart here, but what have they done to Safari with the latest update, I think my iPhone updated automatically last night to 15.3.

Now I mostly use Chrome, but a lot of pages come up using Safari instead, guess I must change my default browser setting.

But this is my point, after over 10 years of having the url for pages at the top of the page, they now have decided to put the url at the bottom of the page, I find it almost impossible to use Safari now as my fingers always go to the top of the page?

Sorry is it’s just me being old and stuck in my ways, but it seems a bit arse about face to me?

Anyone else?

Ignore me it’s just me being old and grumpy!

You can turn it back to the old way by setting it to single tab.
