What does everyone think about the new Stage Manager? Personally I don't get it when you can just swipe up with three fingers and see all your windows so easily already??
Tried it on the iPad for about 3 seconds and then sacked it off. Not a fan personally and I don't think it would make any difference to productivity.

I quite like being able to get to open windows just by placing the mouse to the right of the screen and bringing up all open apps that way.

I see it is not feasible to have different Wallpaper photo albums on different screens now?

Iphone13 pro, iPhone 12pro. Same O/S but the weather app shows different weather conditions for our local area, both have location on.
Any ideas why? The 13pro is showing different results to the BBC the 12Pro shows the same conditions
I’m more than a bit confused.
Ideas anyone

I wonder why the ability to send a Pages document as a PDF has been made more complicated?

It used to be extremely simple to send an email in this way (something I do a lot) and now it's a bit of a faff.

It does seem to involve a few more taps but it's still easy enough.

Go into something like Google maps and see if both phones think they’re in the same place? Are both phones connected to the same mobile and/or wifi networks?

Same network, same Wi-Fi and same physical location, it’s really bizarre.
But thank you for the advice

Help, I've fecked my MacBook Air frown

My wife has broken her MacBook Pro (broken screen - £450 repair!) is in the meantime thought she could use my not often used 2013 MacBook Air. Reset to factory setting, clear the disc and set it up as a new machine with her iCloud account. I obviously made a complete horlicks of it, and now the machine will start but doesn't seem to be seeing a hard disc (SSD)

Switch on it recovery mode (Option +R) gets me to this:

Select DisK Utility and I get this page:

How do I get the machine to recognise the disc?

If I choose from the first image. the 'Reinstall OS X' option it takes me a page where it asks where I want the iOS installed, but the option is blank, no disc showing.

Grrrrr!!

Do you just need to set up a partition on the disk0s2? You need a formatted partition to install macOS to.

Yes, I think so but I’m unsure how to do it. Confidence shot to bits.

You format it via the Erase tab, there will be a drop down I think to choose which format you want the disc. Probably Mac OS Extended. I think you will want to click on the disk0s2 partition first, not the disk it is on.

Exactly right. Taking bull by horns, not really having a clue what I was doing, created a partition on Disk0. Then using ‘ReInstall OSX’ option, it wrote to the new partition. Took hours to complete, then more hours to update OS to first El Capitan and then Big Sur.

Took me most of the day but it’s running fine. Phew!

I still haven't updated from Monterey to Ventura, I assume its fully working and safe to use, as I normally wait a few months before updating OS.

Been on Ventura since it was released. Not had any issues with it at all (2020 Intel MBP)

It is fine on both my personal and work Macs. There aren't really any major changes.

I've just put Ventura on my laptop and will do the main Mac Studio over the weekend. No problems at all. I held off due to a known software compatibility problem for one essential program I use, but that's now fixed with their latest update.

Does anyone know what on earth Safari is doing when it does this, and whether I can turn it off?

I have an iMac M1 on latest software. It plays havoc if I have a video playing in one of the windows.

It started doing it after a more recent major software release.
