Another quick question. Is the charger the same on a unibody as with my 1st gen intel PowerBook?

The new ones have the MagSafe magnetic connector, not sure if that it on your current one. It will probably be a different wattage anyway, the different size screen models of the current MBP and Air have different power supply wattages, as the power use of a 17" Pro and an Air will be very different. I think the modern supplies 'power down' if you plug a bigger supply into an Air and just charge more slowly if it was the other way around, with an Air power supply in a large MBP.
