The 'motoring' screen: Unthrilling, yet practical. Pops up when phone connects to car BlueTooth.

I think I need to have a closer look at downloading themes. I like the minimalist examples on this thread.
Is that a piston heads app?
Google Crome can create shortcuts on your desktop to sites you like so they look like any other app.

works on the pc too smile
Unfortunately just a shortcut as SP says, links me straight to the forum homepage.

Just bought a Moto g4 as a quick replacement whilst I figure out what phone I want next, am proper impressed with it for the £100 it cost me. Just managed to spend an hour playing with minimalist text widget and kwgt again hehe

One of my favourite photos I've ever taken. Works quite well as a desktop / phone screen background.

On tha basis that if I were to lose my phone, there may be a reasonable person that finds it, I put together an image for my lock screen that looks like this:

phone_front by conradsphotos, on Flickr

Given that even without a phone I'd usually have access to email, and failing that they can call my OH re. arranging return.

I've never actually lost a phone, but have been in a position at work where others have left a phone on a desk and picked it up not knowing who to return it to, I just thought it might be useful info to put on the lock screen.

Except that all that's there is a phone number, so as far as the finder is concerned it's my second phone/contact number...

Fair point - so I'll just have to be doubly careful not to lose my phone at a PH meet then!! smile

I do that, it's an option on Android iirc.
That said, I've found smartphones before, bring them to the store, they can identify the owner based on the sim card easily enough...

True, but my reasoning was to make it as easy as possible for someone to contact me in the event they found it.

I'm also aware that provided it is still connected, I can remote lock it and display a message on it via "Find my iPhone", but simply having the info immediately there may help a more speedy return....

Just to warn you, I can still make out your wife's phone number on that picture. Might be worth getting rid of the picture!
