Unplug it, wait for 10 seconds, plug it back in.

Otherwise, router reboot. Actually, I'd do this first but I cba to edit this post. biggrin
As a person who makes a living from rebooting stuff, I can confirm this doesn't work.

So, I've escalated it to a PH-P1 incident for assistance.

New alexa show 10 turned up

Quite a fan of the rotating base

However edited to say the alexa app on samsung Note continues to irritate... Live video has stopped working on the 2nd try...

The best out of all of them by far with regards bass.
Great picture quality according to my parents on the other end as well.

Having had it a couple of days I've had to turn off the motion tracking as it really does seem a bit intrusive having it stare at you as you walk around. Fun gimick thou and the brother's kids love it.

For anyone thats not played around with them speaker groups are ace!

In the kitchen I've got a 4th Gen Echo (the multi-speaker one) called "Kitchen" which is perfectly adequate for radio and background music and in the lounge two 3rd Gen Dots (Lounge 1 & 2) which are stereo paired with one of connected to an amp and speakers and a sub.

The amp is on a smartplug called "speakers", the two lounge dots are in a speaker group called "Lounge" I then have a speaker group called "Downstairs" which contains Lounge 1 & 2 and Kitchen.

So by saying "play music in the lounge" I get music in one room which I can boost by saying "turn on your speakers" and multi-room by saying "play music downstairs".

Just makes it a bit more useful, plus I am very bored!

How is the amp connected? aux cable? I'd have expected that having that plugged in, even with the amp turned off would silence the speaker on the dot.

Yep, aux cable from "Lounge 2" so Lounge 1 is relying on its internal speaker which is fine for radio and confirming commands for other devices, lights, heating etc If I want music its speakers on.

The next thing is another paired Dot in the kitchen.

Its hardly hi-fi but be interesting to hear (literally) how it compares to traditional muti-room solutions.

If they're a stereo pair, doesn't that mean that when the amp, speakers and sub are on, they're only playing one channel of a stereo track?

Regardless, got to agree about multiroom, it makes wandering about clearing up much more pleasant, same track at the same place as I walk around.

Last time I looked, you couldn't have overlapping groups, so no "downstairs" and "everywhere" - has that been resolved now?

I think you are right on the pairing front, TBH difficult to tell of radio 4 laugh

Not so sure on the overlapping groups but I have yet another day "spare" tomorrow so I'll have a play around with the 3 downstairs and 2 upstairs to see what happens.

I’ve got a few echos that are set up for routines that involve playing a snippet from songs on the wake up word.

When I operate that, it will cut the music playing from other echos in the house. I appreciate that might be because I can’t ‘dual use’ Spotify but this will occur if it’s playing radio on another also. Is there any way I can fix this?

To illustrate, my Mrs might be listening to radio 6 downstairs and when I run a routine on the upstairs echo, and the song starts on that, the radio downstairs will abruptly stop.

Probably a stupid question but can Echo devices play apple music yet? I've got all my playlists on there and have no desire to pay amazon even more money for music on top of my regular prime subscription.... but I want something on my desk that can show at least 3 world time zones and the weather!

Got bitten by the Alexa bug after being given a free echo dot by talktalk.
The dot is in the bedroom, Echo Show 10 in the living room and Alexa on my PC in the office.
Unfortunately my smart TVs (Samsung) are not as smart as I’d hoped and can’t be controlled! frown

2 good ones today:-
“Alexa, tell me the funniest joke in the World.”
And
“Alexa, the boy stood on the burning deck...”

Yes it plays Apple Music no problem at all.

You have to ask Alexa rather than choose a song on your phone and select your Echo as the device to send it to (Spotify allows this). This can be a minor inconvenience

Thinking of which, I tried to play something from spotify "everywhere" the other day, but it would only play in one place at a time. I could tell it to play on either the Echo or the Dot, and both worked, but if I selected Everywhere it just swapped which one it was playing one.
Anyone had this happen and know a fix?

Overlapping groups - looks like this is now allowed : Downstairs , Everywhere and the East Wing can contain the same speakers. ( there is also now a combine rooms or groups option under the create groups ... which does exactly this )

Stereo Pair ... i think you are right ! anything going wired direct to an amp shouldn't be part of the stereo pair .. though you can add pairs to other groups. What I need is the ability to use an echo as a dummy Sub ... so i can just use it to drive a sub rather then buy a echo sub.

Wandering around cleaning up .. "Clean Up" is one of the default names when you add speakers to a group - so must be a common requirement
