Loving this Echo battery base biggrin

That is neat. Have you got a link?
It is really neat and works nicely on the battery too. Here's a link:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07NF22Q1X/

This is a cheaper version, but it's not as neat:

Got myself my first Echo device, a Echo Show 2 which I'm just figuring out. I mainly bought it for music in the kitchen, quite neat how it displays lyrics for the song you're listening to. Kids seem to like asking it things as well. Any cool things I should setup, first timer tips?

I like that, but the link lead me to this.
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Portable-Docking-Speaker-...

Which will work even better for me.

I saw that, but I decided that was too tall for where I wanted it - I'd be interested to hear if the "passive subwoofer" is any good though...

It's not as clever as it makes out at times. If I listen to the radio it's bbc6 music. I thought it would know this as I was listening to it yesterday.

This morning I say alexa play the radio.

OK here's something you might like, Ed sheeran on amazon music.

Alexa I hate Ed sheeran, never play Ed sheeran

Asking Spotify to play music by Ed sheeran.

Alexa play BBC 6 music

I think in this case you should say "Alexa, resume"

Looking for some help, tried searching online but can't seem to find any answers to my issue.

I've just purchased an Echo dot for a bedroom and set it all up fine on the Alexa app. However, when i play music on it through spotify, another Echo which is located downstairs also starts playing. The dot is registered to a different amazon account and a different spotify account to the Echo located downstairs. Anyone else had this issue and know how to fix it?

Try some recipe skills. It shows you what to do, waits until you've done and only moves on when you say. Some are good, some are not so good.

If you have two Echos linked to the same Amazon account, only the one closest to you will react when you ask it do something.

If they are linked to different accounts and are both in hearing range then maybe they'll both react.

Do they both have the same wake up word? If you change one that might sort the issue?

Just a thought...

Just had a classic misheard.

Alexa, add Go Kat to the shopping list.

I've added a Go Cart to the shopping list.

Alexa, no...oh never mind.

My echo dot arrived today but refuses to find my hue lights, I’ve logged into the hue app and have no problems finding them there but the Alexa app can’t see a single one ( I have 12)

Any suggestions ?

I think this happened to me yesterday whilst setting up the show 5. It looks like I had set the show 5 to a group called the kids bedroom so when the kids asked for music it played on the new show 5. I couldn't seem to remove the Show from the group so factory reset it and installed it again, this time I skipped the group option and just named it. It worked.

Set the new Dot 3 up today, sound quality seems a lot better than the Dot 2 we've been using, it's heavier & looks nicer too.

Our lad can have the old one for his room hehe

If you want your Show 5 to show the clock all the time, this is what mine is set to

Home & Clock - Home Content - Rotate Continuously: off
I've also got Final Scores, Photo Highlights, Stocks, Trending Topics, Upcoming Events and Upcoming Games turned off. I'm not sure if they matter though with Rotate Continuously being off.

Home & Clock - Night Mode: On and automatic.

After they show the first time, I don't have the clock disappearing to show updates or Try This messages. They'll pop up once if you've been into the settings or done something on the screen, then it's just the clock.

I'm finding the Show 5 quite frustrating. Its latest wheeze seems to be showing whatever's playing rather than the clock.

Was intending to use it as a bedside clock, but it's going into the office if I can't sort this out.

(Although, I will say that the Braun-inspired analogue clock face is fantastic!)

Yeah, this is annoying.. It should offer a split screen, half clock, half what's playing or something.

Spotify should also have a Skill that can be used on the screen, to skip songs/change playlists.

Well, just this morning, I have discovered that 'axlexa, home' resets the display. But I shouldn't have to do that that....
