6 128Gb currently £499 and 6 Pro 128Gb £699 / 256Gb £799 on Amazon. Bargains at those prices.

Android Auto seems to be working reasonably well now. Hours between crashes rather than minutes, and it recovers better, comes straight back on.

I tried Amazon cables, then Anker, then finally found a Google cable with my stadia controller with usb-A to Usb-C, so maybe that was it that made the big improvement.

I do understand some updates have been made to help reliability and there is one on the way to enable you to test the cable from the app.

Imo that's the price the Pixel 6 should have been launched at, for anyone considering buying take out a google one storage first for 2TB a month and then you'll get 10% additionally off on the google store, it's a monthly plan so you can cancel after buying the phone.

Now Playing uses a local database of popular songs - the actual song identification is done against this database rather than it querying the internet. The only thing I can think is that the DB is out of date and it wants to update it. You may be able to clear data or reinstall "Pixel Ambient Services" and get it back...

Yeah, it's definitely a bug affecting my phone as I did a side by side comparison with my friends normal Pixel 6 a few weeks back, for some reason mine only shows the songs when it's connected to wifi and it also doesn't show any song that's playing in the background on the lock screen either.

Google one isn't a discount it is 10% back in credit towards next purchase with some strings attached that mean I cannot be used on certain purchases

Mine still does it every now and then. It got to a point where it wouldn't happen for an hour or so then would crash like 20 times with like a few seconds or minutes in-between. I get a just as annoying issue with Spotify where if you ask for a song it will start playing it but no audio, I can then skip back and nothing then again it will start then will skip back as it basically buffered it

The discount is seriously tempting me into buying the 6 pro.

They are also giving £250 trade in for my Pixel 5 which seems fair considering it only cost £599 with the Bose headphones 18 months ago.

So £450 for a new phone that I don't "need" but would like to have. Anyone made the switch from a 5 to the 6 pro?

I'm a bit of a pixel fan boy so would be forgiving of the odd glitch.

I went from 5 to 6. I've not experienced the issues or glitches others have but several months in I still can't get on with the fingerprint sensor on the screen rather than the back.

I also went from a 5 to a 6. It had a few teething issues, but they were sorted out with updates. I would really prefer a glass screen protector, but they make the on screen finger print reader very unreliable so have gone with an Otterbox film on the screen, and the finger print reader is now as reliable as the rear one on the 5.
Make sure you are aware of the size difference as even the 6 is fair bit bigger and the Pro is even bigger again.

Cheers guys.

The bigger screen is part of the reason I'm thinking about upgrading. The 5 feels a little small to me.

Hoping the screen would feel a step up in terms of quality as well.

Why do things always get reduced when I’m about to flog mine! Good phone though despite the teething problems others have had. Blows away the S22 which I’ve also owned.

I know we've sort of stopped talking about Android Auto but I've got to get this off my chest as my God it pisses me off...
I have a Pixel 5 and I drive a lot of different cars through work but I seem to have such trouble getting AA working reliably with Vauxhalls and Peugeot/Citroens. For instance it won't connect or it will and then keep on disconnecting. Or it'll connect one day and then the next they just won't want to know each other.

Get in a Merc, Ford, BMW, Renault or anything else and my AA just works seamlessly.

Anyone else struggle with the PSA stuff?

Son has a Pixel 6 sim free, and cannot get 5g on Three network, what uk networks do support 5g on the Pixel 6.
He’s convinced Pixel 6 is not supported for 5g in the uk, is he right.
Thanks

I'm on 3 on a 6 pro and the 5g works out of the box without having to set up anything.

I've noticed the radio in th Pixel 6 isn't the best reception wise but still usually gets decent speeds on 5g.

Edit: Just did a speed test indoors, outside it's usually 600mbps+

5G performance where I am is woeful, I've actually disabled 5G on mine as it just ended up bouncing between 4G and 5G, terrible speed and burned battery. Battery performance since disabling it has been around 30% better so not insignificant.

I really don't see the point of 5G to be honest.
