O2 (in store) were brilliant, Samsung rep for me to see/play with the phones.. No pressure, decided which I wanted, £50 deposit paid.. Advised it'd be 20/04.

Text on 19/04, it'll be tomorrow here's your reference.. Text at midnight, it's definitely here come down any time to get it.

Into store at 3pm, seen immediately and walked out 10 minutes later job done.

JBL speaker ordered from the leaflet inside the bag.

Very happy with O2.

Now need to get home and have a play!

Been playing with my s8+ most of the afternoon, still feels amazing to hold. My s6 now feels like a complete dinosaur lol. Few annoying niggles I'm finding with it but suppose one of those things learn to live with

Picked mine up today, arrived in store at 5pm.

Surprisingly the s8+ is actually smaller than my Nexus 6, well it's narrower. Just charging up!

Set mine up as soon as I got home yesterday.
Nice they have the Samsung switch service where you just like a cable in - transfers everything over.
I decided to start a fresh with pictures ETC. Only issue now is I have no memes to use on Facebook frown

Very impressed. Got a screen protector on it and a Spigen case.

Only thing to note for others is that my screen protector goes around the curved edges so isn't really compatible with a case as it tends to peel away in the corners. I think you can get case compatible screen protectors.

So I've been playing around with mine all last night and this morning. Initial thoughts are -

Screen is great, very clear. Its different getting used to the longer ratio.
Battery seems good so far, although i've got the brightness turned down. If its turned fully up its blinding!
Camera - Love all the settings compared to the Nexus 6. Can't wait to try them out
Edge - a bit fiddly so far? Sometimes the edge apps swipe no problem, other times not.

Not blown away but liking it so far

S8+
Great screen
Awesome looking phone
Viewing icons, online content, messages, email is amazingly clear.
Don't like the Bixby button as I keep pressing it at the same time as the power button
In fact the button feel sort of wobbly
Hate the rear sensor
Unlocking and locking is putting me right off
Syncing with my mac and music is a real pain
Car app Android Auto is pretty naff
Thought it had bluetooth 5 but only has 4.1
Sending it back sadly - just rather keep my old brick of a phone which unfortunately is an iPhone 6sPlus for me its mainly the finger sensor thats done it.

Got mine this morning, coincidentally I was also working from home whistle
Glad I chose the S8+, got used to the size already (although I've been using big phones for a while), like the fact that it's relatively slim horizontally.
Facial recognition unlock works pretty well, but would prefer a fingerprint scanner on the front... I'm sure they could have incorporated that somehow.

I agree finger print sensor is annoying.

I have disabled bixby (you can do it by pressing and holding screen to get customisable screen, scroll across to bixby and disable at the top).
I've moved back to a pin code unlock and used features like lock-screen timeout if I'm checking my phone every couple of minutes it doesn't lock but then if I don't use it for 10 minutes it's OK

Not for everyone though.

Agreed on the finger print sensor being terrible. Really bad move placing it where they have.

Using face recognition which works brilliantly. Not bothered about the risk of someone using a photo of me to unlock it. That's the kind of thing that's done for a proof of concept and karma points on the internet, but in the real world not a serious risk as far as I'm concerned.

Would have liked to try the iris recognition but doesn't work with contacts.

Overall, seems an excellent phone and a worthy upgrade to my S6 edge.

Just a shame vodafone fked up the number port and I can't copy my number over till Monday.

Regarding iris recognition, despite it saying ti may not work with contacts nor glasses, I've had no issues with it so far.

I'm pretty annoyed about the new USB port, means I can't use it with my Gear VR anymore. Apparently, in the States, those who preordered the S* will be able to claim the new Gear VR. Anyone know if this will be the case over here?

Hmm, maybe it's just my eyes then - it failed to recognize them and I'm wearing contacts. Will try again later inc ase I was doing something wrong.

There's a MicroUSB > USB C dongle in the box, as well as the USB > USB C dongle

Doesn't that depend if you have v1 or v2 . I have v2 and you're right it has the adaptors but i think those with the 2015 model don't have that.

At first I hated the fingerprint scanner location, but now after little over a day I use it when I can't be bothered with the facial scanner or it's not feasible (only got small hands) also the fingerprint is the power button so no need to press that then place finger on scanner. Just a finger on the scanner will power on and unlock simultaneously

Loving mine so far, picked it up from the DPD depot on way home from work. Been using an old iPhone 4s for the last month after an accident prone 6 months where phones are concerned, so this is massive improvement. Also feels like a decent improvement on the s6 edge I had previously, and is handily waterproof should I drop my phone in the pool again frown
Facial recognition appears to be patchy but perhaps I need to set it up properly rather than rushing it. Fingerprint scanner works perfectly so far.

Thanks for this. I have the Nexus 6 and the S8+ looks a bit narrow. I'n not sure how things will display on a long narrow screen. i guess for most people its the width that is a problem, not the length (fnarr fnarr hehe)

I'm hoping the Note 8 is wider otherwise I'll stick with my Nexus 6
