I like it. If you just need to be contactable and will be away from power for long periods of time it's a decent product for not much money. This plus a small external battery pack equals what, several months of standby time? Mad ting.

It's clearly just a gimmick to make you look at their new phones but it worked for me... I think the new Nokia 6 and 5 seem promising. Look forward to reviews on those.

I think it is a perfect phone for kids, the elderly (my mum still uses the 2700 classic and my dad uses the 106) and a perfect phone for using as a phone since it's small with long battery life.

I think its going to be in very high demand personally. Excellent price, absurd battery life, simple, actual buttons. That's a pretty wide market they're going to have that's been severely underserved in the smartphone era.

Great as a second phone too, particularly useful if you do anything away from electricity for a few days occasionally (festivals, camping, hiking, ultra-marathons etc).

Nokia have been churning out feature phones like that forever, usually available for under £20.

This.

What difference is there between the "new" nokia 3310 and any other bog standard feature phone you can buy from any supermarket for under £20? Apart from the nostalgia of owning a "3310" again, it's just the same old crap £20 phone you can already buy anywhere. Not like the market has been lacking in crap cheap feature phones and "Nokia" are going to save the day and give everyone great battery life again...

We used £10 network branded feature phones as work phones in a previous job and they would usually last around a week on a single charge. Did a perfectly good job of taking calls and sending texts but that was about it. It even had a camera but no actual way of getting the pictures off as it didn't have bluetooth and no USB connection. Didn't support MMS either biggrin

Nokia aren't doing anything new here. I can't really see anyone rushing to buy one apart from the odd few who think they're cool rocking a retro phone. They'll be tired of it in about 5 minutes (after their friends have congratulated them on their awesomeness) and go back to their Iphones.

i love the fact that even nokia are referring to these as 'burner' phones.

Basically openly admitting that drug dealers will buy these in their thousands, especially if they're loaded with £10 credit. use for 3 weeks, bin.

Exactly, it isn't that close to a 3310.

I've been told that I may be getting one to replace my Nokia C5 work phone though.

I wonder how long a modern iPhone would last if it was used in the same manner as we used 3310s? i.e. hardly used, wi-fi/BT/notifications off, no checking FB every 9 minutes, dimmed screen. I feel a test coming on.

Plenty of guys that tried it. I remember samsung having a "energy saver mode" that made the screen black with some white text.
First one I found:

They will probably sell ~5 million of those gimmicks around the world (India, etc.) in the next 12 months...

It doesn't look that much like a Nokia 3310

ETA: I understand it's inspired by the 3310 rather than being the old 3310.

I have a 3310 somewhere that no longer works. It's never been damaged so I don't know what happened to it. The last Nokia I had was a 6230i - that was a terrific phone. That still works.

Had an email yesterday saying will be able to order them today from CPW, my Nexus 6P broke today as well so Google are sending me a new one in about 2 days time.

Called CPW hoping the local store would have a 3310 in stock that I could click and collect but turns out the order today is for delivery in a few weeks damn.

2-3 days without a phone, last time I had this I was about 13 (now 28)

Ordered mine in Grey

On back order due to massive demand but should have it within a couple of weeks, not bad for £50 sim free ... looking forward to getting my hands on a real one!

So just to resurrect this thread.. I work for a control centre where we have a phone system including software, since working from home have been using headphones plugged into laptop but the USB Type C and headphone jack have now given in so work have sent me a "phone" to divert the phone system to.

£20 Alcatel + O2 simcard

No way I was using the Alcatel so dug out my 3310 3G, unfortunately realised how "rubbish" it actually is, phone conversation quality isn't very good etc and its also tiny in the hands, makes me wonder how I used to use the 8310 which I've got sat upstairs.

Made Mum/Sister dig out my collection of Nokia's at their house yesterday few classics in there including 7110,8110,8850,5110,6210 and 6250.

I have however ordered for delivery today a Nokia 8110 4G! which I am hoping will be a slightly better experience running KaiOS with Whatsapp available etc.

I think there was a separate thread on the new 8110 - I've got one as a spare phone, it is OK, but battery doesn't last quite as long as I had hoped.
