OK, what is stopping a SKY subscriber from acquiring Sky Go and loading it on a Now Tv box (its just a cheaper version of the Roku Box)? I cant find any references.

I don't think it has an app for sky go
I'm not really sure what you are trying to suggest you could achieve with this even if there was, you still need a sky subscription for sky go.
Now tv is essential a sky go box, it's made by sky and it's packages are cheaper than a full sky subscription.

I suspect it would involve using someone else's Sky Go account. And yes OP, Sky are way ahead of you there, there are restrictions on Sky Go to essentially stop you transmitting the stream to a TV for very obvious reasons.

I think there may be ways round it with an XboxOne or Playstation, Google is your friend

There is nothing to stop a Sky Go app on a machine using a TV screen as a monitor (via HDMI cable). The question is what stops Sky Go working on a Roku when it normally would work? Have Sky done something to the Roku box to prevent it?

I guess the question is, if you side load the Sky Go App onto the Sky Now box (easily done via ADB Bridge) Would it work as in display fully working through the HDMI on the screen ? I'll be honest I have thought about it on Fire TV but never got around to trying.

There is no sky go app for a roku either, certainly no official one and I don't believe there are any unofficial sky go app for anything because sky keep access locked down tight.
