TV Box question

I purchased a Cenovo mini PC to stream some internet to my telly. Used a PC monitor to set it up (i.e. install windows updates) which works fine but when I plug it into the telly there is no signal. Checked the HDMI port and that's fine, checked the lead and that's also fine.

Any ideas?

What's the connection to the TV, hdmi?
If so check the settings for the output.

connecting pcs to tvs with hdmi is always a pain in the ass

you need to get hdcp handshake to happen, which computers aren't very good at doing with tvs.

There doesn't seem to be one guaranteed way of making it work, it seems to depends on the tv, and possibly the graphics card, and possibly the OS.

Generally i turn off the pc, turn off the tv, then turn on the tv and fairly soon after boot the pc, if the screen doesn't come on, restart the tv.
If that doesnt work, shout swear and continue to restart things until for no reason it seems to suddenly work.

Daft as it sounds I found that a PC I wanted to hook up to a telly didn't work. The HDMI lead was fine but when we swapped it over it just worked. No idea why

Sir, your suggestion wins! Thank you. Can now confirm I have access to naked internet ladies and will shortly be blind no doubt.
