I've removed a Seagate 250Gb hard drive from an old server, my pc only showed it as 95Gb, so I was going to formal it and use as a spare, it wouldn't format fully (12 hours and 30%) so I quick format.
Still only shows as 95gb?
I can't see a partion and it's shows as empty.
So where's the other 150gb?

Can you get to DRIVER MANAGER and view the HDD from there? It may have been split to have recovery partitions which are not visible without assigning a drive letter. You should be able to reallocate the space such that there's one single partition.

Obviously WARNING - you may lose all data in the process, etc etc so proceed with caution or back everything up first (best option).

Use DiskPart to actually investigate the drive, you can also use diskpart to erase / reset / clean the drive if needed.

Warning, misusing diskpart can seriously damage your day wink
