iOS 11 - who's upgrading?

I don't think this is iOS 11 related, but who knows...
On my 6S+ yesterday, the battery went from 100% to about 70% in the space of 3 hours where it was mostly unused. Then it dropped to around 20% within 4 hours, then by the end of the day it was sat on 1%. It stayed on 1% - not turning off - for at least 4 more hours. In the end I plopped it next to my bed playing a podcast while I slept and it did the honourable thing and switched itself off sometime in the middle of the night, showing the "need charge" animation if I try and turn it on.
I'm guessing my battery needs some kind of calibration (I thought that was a myth with these batteries?). Is there a defacto way to do this properly?
Mine was showing photos as the main usage. I always reboot on an update but it seems to have settled down.On my 6S+ yesterday, the battery went from 100% to about 70% in the space of 3 hours where it was mostly unused. Just upgraded to the new OS with purchase of an iPhone 8. Skype now crashes immediately on being selected. I see that there is a "business" version of Skype, in addition to the "social networking" variant.
Can any Skype users suggest a solution?
Annoyingly upgrading to iOS 11 somehow upgraded my Skype app as well, which I had specifically avoided updating because of the whole tweens-focused redesign. Can any Skype users suggest a solution?

Reboot the phone first. If that doesn't solve it then I would suggest deleting the app, rebooting the phone and then re-downloading the app.Can any Skype users suggest a solution?

There’s a few things I’ve started to find that are useful.
(6s+ that I’ve decided to keep for at least another year now)
Going into Settings and being able to easily tweak things - deleting apps which it turns out you never used, looking at and deleting all those mail attachments (why oh why oh why do I take pictures of cups of coffee and send them?????) and generally how it handles storage.
I’ve got half the space on a 64Gb ‘phone again!
Perversely, Mrs Beano maintains that she won’t update apps because if she does so all the apps she has deleted reappear in her phone! I have seen no evidence this actually happens yet we updated her to iOS 11 and she has 50-60 updates which she won’t do

Settings / General / About / Applications... anything listed there won't work.

Why didn’t they warn us more prominently about that?
