10 days in with the X and I am really happy with it; the Face ID works really well and especially as I work a lot with my hands and Touch ID can be unsurprisingly temperamental when you have glue/silicone/cuts to your fingers!

The screen is lovely, and it just feels really high quality (as it should for the money). My wife is taking my iPhone 7 and I will sell her 64GB SE which is in A1 condition - the joys of eBay/Gumree await.

got mine today but restoring my data from itunes is a ballache.

It'll back up from my 6+ but when I connect the X to itunes it wont allow me to restore it from the PC as the restore backup field is greyed out

Any ideas? For the moment I've set it up as a new phone but ideally id need my whattapp chats, photos etc back on to my X

Apart from that, I love it! its so easy to use once and looks awesome
I guess I need the very latest version of iTunes, back up my 6+ with the sim in it to iTunes, then pop that sim in my X and restore to it?

I am finding call quality is not brilliant on the X.... sounding a bit muffled much of the time.

I have turned off phone noise cancellation. Anyone else?
I’m the polar opposite, my X call clairty is miles ahead of my SE, but one thing I have noticed is delay in connecting to my AirPods and also a delay when the X is connected to the Bluetooth in the car and a call is received, it takes 2-3 seconds after answering the call for it to fully connect the volume through the car audio - never had this issue before.

Anyone experiencing screen burn issues? Apparently Apple will not compensate for this.

It's been reported that the OLED screen (all OLED screens) suffer from burn in. So if, for example, you're watching SKY news for hours on end at a high brightness, the screen will develop 'artefacts' - or permanent ghosting of where the static SKY logo might have been.

If you Google OLED screen burn, there's a ton of info. All OLED screens have this potential issue, Samsung, LG, Google, Apple etc

Yup, it is most definitely a problem I've heard about with LG OLED screens. The TV has a built in screensaver and a "screen shifter" to try and eliminate the problem, but if you're watching a source like Sky which has tickers or logos that are on constantly, it'll get burnt into the screen. Basically, don't watch Sky News for extended periods of time.

OLEDs can suffer from temporary image retention as well. I've already seen that on my iPhone X with some notifications that have stuck around on the screen while it has been charging (for some reason if you're playing music and start charging the phone, it won't switch off the screen - or doesn't in my case anyway).

A reason to have the folio case I guess.... I bought one as there was nothing else that looked as reasonable for protection. It shuts the screen off when you close it, and on when you open it. Not even Siri wakes it when it's closed.

It was reported the same problem with plasma TVs. I had the VT65 for 4 years with no screen burn and now i have both the LG OLED C6 and B7 with no current issues. This is with sky sports news constantly on all weekend.

For somebody to watch sky news etc on their phones for hours straight should maybe buy a TV.

But by-passing that hasn't Samsung had OLED screens on their phones for a few years now and with no major issues, why would it be different to apple if they're using Samsung screens.

I won't have a phone without OLED ever since my Galaxy S2. I've had several OLED screen phones, never seen any burn in...

Had a play with a friends iPhone X yesterday...

The profile of the phone is very nice, he had Space Grey so the new design didn't stand out much different to the previous gen. The notch isn't so bad in real life but the screens actual usable space is quite small compared with the 8 Plus that I'm used too.

Nice phone and if you can ignore the ' I want one because it's the latest iPhone ' there's not much thats tempting me away from what I have now.

My x hasn't arrived but I may call them and swap it to a plus. I have a plus now and the size always irked me but it's the most practical screen for me.

My X arrived today and already my 7 plus is distant memory. The screen is small in width but that actually makes it nicer to use, also the phone being smaller makes it much easier to handle.

FaceID performing well so far although I'm yet to try applypay with it.

I've found FaceID to be marginally more unreliable than TouchID, but I'm one of those people that never had a problem with using my fingerprint. It Just Worked(tm)

Particularly in bed with my face smushed up against the pillow it seems to have bit of a problem with. irked

To be honest though the rest of the time it's perfectly fine, it hasn't been the unsettling paradigm shift I expected it to be, and the whole "I pull my phone out of my pocket and it's ready to go, I'll lose that with FaceID!?" concern was unfounded. For all their faults Apple does sometimes know users better than they know themselves.

The only other time it doesn't work for me is if I look down the phone at quite a steep angle.

The part I haven't got used to yet is that FaceID only does the unlock where as Touch ID actually opened up the phone. There have been a few times where I have sat there waiting for the phone to open, but forgetting I need to swipe up!

The best part is the notifications. I like the way that they are kept private until I unlock with FaceID, but then I can look at them without actually opening the phone.

Could you not see them before without FaceID? Have they hidden them now?

You see the fact that app X has a notification, but it doesn't show the content until you have unlocked the phone with your face.
