I'm in the same boat. Just can't justify a new one whilst there's still life in the old bugger, but really want something new.

It's annoying, when I bought it I was like, please last longer than 3 years, now 10 years later it's still going strong. It's a heavy chunky old thing as well.

Assuming you mean the B7/C7 one, that's what I'm after - found it for £1399 at John Lewis, anyone seen it cheaper?

And me, but I'm on a Sharp CRT. And I'm only justifying it to me. But every time I watch a new one, there will be a little voice saying "the old one still worked" in my ear. Ah well, they only get better and cheaper.

Yes, the B7 as I use 5.1 for sound. That's the best deal out there at the moment plus it comes with the 5 year guarantee.

The Bose QC25s are still £159 on Amazon (Apple version in Black)
Well over £250 elsewhere
Mine arrived yesterday ..
Quick question if I may: does the noise cancelling only work when you have music playing or can you wear them with the cancelling on and just enjoy silence on a 'plane?

Replaced our Panny 32" CRT with a 39" Panny LED 3.5yrs ago purely so I could stream films to it from my NAS, our lad has been using the CRT for his X-Box so all good.

Well he's getting an X Box ONE S for Christmas & wants HDMI so I've just bought a 50" Panny LED so he can have the 39" that we've been quite happy with! How I resisted that LG OLED offer I have no idea, oh yes, my OH would've gone nuts!

God knows what we'll do with the CRT, does anybody still want them?

Bose QC35 are £229 and QC35II £279 instore at JL Stratford.

That is the cheapest I have seen them and doesn't seem a bad price for the original set which is exactly the same as the current one but without Google Assistant.

This isn't online for some reason.

I've just bought the QC25 from JL for £159.99, should be delivered in the next day or so.
However, if you jump on Quidco and buy from Currys, you get get 10% off their £169.99 price...but you're buying from PC World Currys.

I'm not overly impressed with the prices of the LG OLED screens for Black Friday.
When i was in Richer Sounds, during the summer, the screens were on sale for circa £1450 at the time (55"), they have now seemed to increase in price for Black Friday.
Currys are doing the C7 screen at the same price as Richer Sounds B7.

Just ordered
- Samsung MU7000 TV for £749 (was £860 up to a week ago and about £1000 for most of October)
from Amazon .
49"? As it has the same price in John lewis with a 5 year warranty/richer sounds with 6 years. Isn't amazon only 1 year?

He's using Amazon vouchers though
Correct.

And to be honest, I'm not always convinced by the need for these long warranties. My Toshiba LCD (with no warranty) developed a fault after 4 years and 11 months - I called Toshiba (who I bought it from) and they replaced it within a week. Under EU law (I know, I know...) products must last for a "reasonable" amount of time (usually considered to be 5 years for expensive electronics), so a 5 year warranty is a bit redundant really.

For day to day stuff - Netflix, iPlayer, ITV On Demand etc - they're great. The voice remote is rubbish but even without that they're brilliant.

We're on Virgin at the moment and it's nice to have the box recording stuff but we don't watch that much TV and I could save £30/month by re-jigging the phone/Broadband and ditching Virgin. If it copes well enough with iplayer & ITV then that's probably going to be enough smile
