Samsung Galaxy S9
Discussion
I read that the S9 was due for release and, as I'm due a phone in May, I'm interested as Android is my preference. Annoyingly it was "supposed" to have been released this week, but it's been put back to February so all there is is rumour and hints... Does anyone know what's true about what it'll be?
Rumoured Specs are:
- 5.8in / 6.2in QHD+ Super AMOLED curved display (570ppi / 529ppi)
- Android 8.0 'O'
- Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 (US) / Samsung Exynos (UK)
- Cat 18 LTE support (1.2Gbps download speeds)
- Display embedded fingerprint scanner
- Dual rear-facing camera
- Bixby AI assistant with dedicated button
- USB-C Uuuuuuurgh, 3.5mm headphone jack
- 4GB RAM and 64GB storage / 4GB RAM and 128GB
I may or may not go down this route though and look at alternate phones....
(Apologies if a thread exists, but I couldn't find it)

Beyond the fingerprint sensor change (which may or may not happen as has apparently been difficult to implement) and the Dual camera, not much's changed from the S8.
I moved from a Nexus 6 to a S8 in November, and have been very impressed, especially as it's been heavily discounted recently.

Am looking at the S8 really and if there's little change, that's what I might go for unless there's a better alternative.I moved from a Nexus 6 to a S8 in November, and have been very impressed, especially as it's been heavily discounted recently.
Anything that improves my comedy battery life on my S7 is welcome.
Finger print scanner on the back and the awful placing of the bixby button put me off the S8. I like the button on the front, but as it also acts as a home button on my HTC 10, an in screen one will not likely do this, so it is just location.
I have considered some of the "lesser" phones such as the Huawei's and Honor's of the world, as well as the One Plus 5T. I just cannot seem to pull the trigger for some reason...

Why uggghhh at usb-c?
Because I've had Android phones and devices for around 10 years and I have many, many USB cables that fit many devices all over the place - I'd need at least 4 new cables (secondary cable in the house, car, office, in bag) to cover me. Then I'll have cables for my ipad and iphone (work devices), kids tablets and the S8 - it'll be a pain, that's all...james_tigerwoods said:

I get by just fine with 1 cable, and 1 wireless charger. So don't worry.Mammasaid said:
S8 comes with usb c cable + charger and 2 adaptors, one of which is a micro usb to usb c, which to be hoenst is all I need, along with some wireless charging pads.
My girlfriend has an S8 and associated adaptors - She's lost them already I guess I'll be forced to buy some wireless chargers then

Wireless chargers are awesome, I have one by the bed, at night the phone is just popped on it, it is one that stands the phone up.My colleague who is a massive Apple fanboi can't see the point of them, he is forever moaning that his charge cables keep breaking!!

When he gets an iPhone that has it he'll deny ever saying that and you won't be able to get him to stop gushing about itI was about to upgrade to the S8 but will now wait for the S9 Plus.
What appeals to me is the new dual camera technology.
Even with my S7 when taking product shots and photographs for work, for most applications such as social media etc the quality has been great, I don't really use my Nikon much anymore, so handy just to have a decent camera on you at all times.
