Can I change the Bixby button to the power button?

Is this possible?
There is an app called bxActions which lets you remap the button or, better still for me, disable it. It can be remapped to bring up the power menu but not actually the power button where a long press would turn off the device.

My contract is up for renewal in a couple of days. I've currently got a S7E and it does everything I need and more. It's mainly used to browse PH (could be both PH to be honest!) and Whatsapp. I'm paying close to £60 a month due to the data I use (or can use, plus insurance). I was thinking of just getting a sim only on a monthly contact until it breaks. Your post has pretty much confirmed that its best to do that.
Well phoned them today...can't use my 15% discount so have to pay £61 a month if I wanted to have it.

Made my mind up...sim as soon as I can.

I looked at the S9 closely and went with the Huawei P20 Pro which gives significantly better photos than the S9 and it was this that was the deal breaker for me really.

The cost difference was staggering too - nearly £20 a month difference...

Chickened out of a new S9+ too, simply too expensive for the minor changes from the S7E. Now paying £8 p/m for my S7E with unlimited calls/texts & 4GB of 4G.

Cheapest S9+ would've been around £38 p/m with £150 upfront tied in for 2 years. Nah. I'll buy outright and stick with sim only when I need a new phone.

Well I wish I had your willpower...

Logged onto the Vodafone app today and they were offering me 15% off. Works out the same price with insurance as I'm paying for now, but 32GB data and 24 months free Spotify (saving me £240). Man maths at its best...

S9+ in lilac is sitting at home waiting for me; it has just been delivered.

I am still a few months away from the contract end of my S7 Edge, however once I get the screen fixed under insurance I will be able to sell it and have enough to pay off the remainder of the contract.

Ive had mine for a few days now. It a very nice bit of kit a few annoyances though

When texting the palm of my hand seems to touch a button that chucks me out of the app, its driving me mad!

The bixby button is useless for me and i dont seem to be able to turn it off or make it into anything else

Using the samsung wireless charger ive always used for the S7 seems to take an age to charge even though it says its fast charging.

The new type C able.

As good as a phone that it is, i wouldn't say its worth the premium over the S7 edge that i had before.

Very much my view, too. The S7E was quite possibly the most perfect do-it-all device I've owned.

I came to this conclusion whilst researching my upgrade. Fingerprint scanner on the back was the final straw for me, along with reports of an average battery life (one of my main gripes with my old S7). I'm two weeks into a Huawei P20 Pro, and am extremely happy with it thus far.

ETA: I see I'm not the only one!

I was sceptical about the scanner on the back but after using it for a couple of weeks it feels natural to use.

I don't think it's possible to buy a bad phone now but considering how much they cost that's a good thing.

I find the Spigen case really helps, your finger rests perfectly into the FPS.

I use a Spigen case and find it works really well.

I also saw this thing on my desk the other day. It was very small.

My 19 yo daughter who has had nothing but Apple has just ordered an S9+ to replace her iPhone 7, it's way cheaper for her and she fancied a change, her boyfriend is on Android and has just ordered an S9+ too, both myself and the wife have Samsungs; S9+ and S8 respectively, after playing about with ours she fancies something that's a bit more customisable, she said that the look of iPhone and the OS is just so samey with every update.

It'll be interesting to see how she gets on, weirdly she's actually quite excited.

I have no complaints myself.

On eBay tonight looking for a replacement for my LG G5, I had a G2 before that and have been happy with their phones so decided to get a G7 ThinQ.

Found one, used but 'as new' by the description and judging by the seller's feedbacks seemed as if that would indeed be the case.

Was at 200 (£5 postage) with an hour to go so with a little time left put in a bid of 251 but looked to have been sniped by a 265 bid. OK, no worries.

What then caught my eye was an advert for some other phones. I wasn't rigid on the G7, the Samsung S9 or S9+ were some strong alternatives.

A new S9+ shows up at a BIN price of £199, seller near me but with only 1 feedback. This seems too cheap for a new phone. Anyway I bought it and paid through Paypal.

Am I right in saying that the best case is I get an S9+ for a great price, the worst case a refund through Paypal if I don't get it.

I've had a S9+ for a year or so, it's used and in good condition and worth a hell of a lot more than £199. If it seems too good to be true, it probably is...

Yes I agree and if it wasn't Paypal then I wouldn't bother. Not sure why they place an ad though. Not really expecting the deal to go through, more of a curios thing.
