I had movie maker on my last PC and bought the licence. However it looks like I am going to have to buy another licence to use it on my new PC.

Is there a free porgram out there that can do more or less the same thing? What I need is to upload an MP4 to the program ( camera video ) and then add an audio MP3 across the top of it. I need to be able to move / edit the start time of the audio in order that it synch up to the video ( the video is of me playing drums with the MP3 I am playing to layered over the top ).

Thanks

Not sure what you mean bought the license? Movie Maker was a free app but Microsoft discontinued it a few years back.
If you have Windows 10 the latest version of the built in photo app includes some basic video editing features and would probably do what you need.

If you have an iPad then iMove on it makes this sort of thing a breeze.

I had to pay 25 quid to have full access to the program in order to use it properly. Now that my key is on the old PC it wants me to pay again for the new one.

The gopro studio software is free.

Davinci Resolve is quite a stepup but also free.

If you have access to old PC you could try retrieving the key with something like a key retriever.
Something like Belarc adviser

You should never have to pay to use Windows Movie Maker, it was a free Windows tool. There were not extra features to unlock.

There have been many scams though - https://www.welivesecurity.com/2017/11/09/eset-det...

Quite being an understatement.
A friend of mine who is a pro DoP et al has declared it to be the greatest product available right now.

I have the key and I have the email it was sent via. it worked and enabled full use of the program which was restrites before. It all seems legit.

That said the programme I have downloaded this time isn't asking for a key so it may work unhindered
